Aruna College of Nursing, Tumkur Admission Process

Aruna College of Nursing is one of the oldest nursing colleges in Karnataka, India. It offers various nursing programs at different levels, including Bachelor's, Master's, and Diploma courses. The college follows a systematic process for selecting candidates for admission to its different nursing programs. The college usually starts the admission process for the academic year a few months before the start of the academic session. 

The eligibility criteria to get admission to Aruna College of Nursing may vary based on the course, but in case of B.Sc Nursing undergraduate course, one has to have a 10+2 degree with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as mandatory subjects. For the postgraduate programs like M.Sc Nursing specializations, the candidates need to hold a B.Sc Nursing degree. For the GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) program, it may differ from the eligibility criteria. Students need to consult with the college separately for each program to determine their specific exam requirement.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Sc Nursing: This B.Sc Nursing course at Aruna College of Nursing has 60 seats for admission. Admission into this four-year course is offered to the students on the basis of their marks obtained in the qualifying examination that is 10+2 along with entrance test scores, if any, as indicated by the college or the appropriate authorities.

Post Basic B.Sc Nursing: It has 40 seats, and it is for registered nurses who want to upgrade their qualification. Candidates need to have a GNM degree and a valid nursing registration certificate to be considered for admission.

GNM General Nursing and Midwifery: GNM program intake capacity is 60. This course is of the diploma level. The general condition of taking admissions in GNM is 10+2 examinations. A preference is given to candidates with a science background.

M.Sc Nursing: The following five specializations are available at Aruna College of Nursing. M.Sc Nursing intake capacity of 5 for each specializations are given below.

  1. M.Sc Medical Surgical Nursing
  2. M.Sc Obstetrics and Gynaecology Nursing
  3. M.Sc Community Health Nursing
  4. M.Sc Paediatric Nursing
  5. M.Sc Psychiatric Nursing

The general eligibility criteria for admission into the above postgraduate programs include B.Sc Nursing qualification, work experience (if any), and performance in any relevant entrance examinations or selection processes conducted by the college.
