Beehive College of Engineering and Technology, Dehradun Admission Process

Beehive College of Engineering and Technology (BCET), Dehradun, has a well-structured and merit-determined admission process for its engineering programs. The AICTE-affiliated college admits students mainly through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main by the Central Board of Secondary Education. This is the main examination for BCET's B.Tech courses admission.

The admission process at BCET is designed to be transparent and just in selecting the most worthy candidates. BCET has a total of 183 seats across its five B.Tech courses. The distribution of seats is as follows: 85% of the total seats are filled through state-level counseling by Uttarakhand Technical University, out of which 50% is reserved for Uttarakhand residents and 35% for All India candidates. The rest of the 15% of seats belong to the management quota for which the institute holds its own counseling on the basis of JEE Main ranks. 2. 

Application Process

The process of admission application in Beehive College of Engineering and Technology includes some steps:

1. JEE Main Examination: The candidates must appear for the JEE Main exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The exam is typically conducted twice a year, i.e., in January and April.

2. JEE Main Result: The students have to wait for the declaration of JEE Main results and receive their All India Rank (AIR) after sitting for the exam.

3. State-level Counseling (for 85% seats):

  • Apply for registration in the UTU counseling process.
  • Express college and course preference by submitting a form.
  • Undergo the seat allotment procedure based on rank and category in JEE Main.
  • In case of seat allotted at BCET, appear at the college for verification of documents and payment of fees.

4. Management Quota (for 15% seats):

  • Directly apply to BCET for management quota seats.
  • Attend institute-level counseling by BCET.
  • Seats are reserved according to the ranks obtained in JEE Main.

5. Document Submission: The following documents should be submitted by the candidates during admission:

  • Score card of JEE Main
  • Class 10 and 12 certificate and mark sheet
  • Category certificate (in case the candidate belongs to SC/ST category)
  • Domicile certificate (in case the candidate belongs to Uttarakhand)
  • Character certificate
  • Migration certificate
  • Medical fitness certificate
  • Passport size photos

6. Fee payment: After successful document verification and allotment of seat, candidates must pay the demanded fees to seal the admission.

7. Orientation and Classes: After the completion of the admission process, the students are required to report for the orientation course and attend classes according to the college calendar.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Tech: Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering are the five B.Tech programs offered by BCET. Admission in all the B.Tech programs is the same and on the basis of JEE Main ranks. The overall approved intake in all these programs by the college is 183 seats.

Computer Science and Engineering: There are 51 seats available in this course. The applicants have to pass JEE Main and undergo the counseling procedure.

Civil Engineering: 39 seats are available for this course. Admission, like B.Tech other courses, happens. Mechanical Engineering: Provides 39 seats with the conventional B.Tech admission process. For all of the B.Tech courses, the total fee structure is Rs. 186,000.
