CIT Chennai Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

For the accommodation of boys, Podhigai Boys Hostel is located on campus. CIT Chennai hostel has basic amenities such as 24 hour electricity, water supply, reading room, TV lounge, indoor games facilities, and so on.

Vaigai Girls Hostel is a separate girls hostel at the college. Vaigai Girls Hostel provides basic amenities such as wifi, RO water, a reading room, a power backup, and a gym for the convenience of girl students. Chennai Institute of Technology hotel's rooms are spacious and well-ventilated.

Chennai Institute of Technology health centre is well-equipped with all the medical amenities. It has a separate inpatient facility for male and female students and is manned by a medical officer and a healthcare assistant to provide excellent medical care to all the students. 

The CIT Chennai library has an ample number of books and study materials to assist students with their studies. Students can also access a digital library with multimedia content.

Chennai Institute of Technology sports facilities include courts for various outdoor sports like basketball, volleyball, cricket, etc. The institute also provides yoga classes to its students.

CIT Chennai's IT infrastructure includes an internet lab that is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. More than 540 computers can connect to the internet. The campus intranet contains vital information such as test schedules, time tables, examination schedules, campus news, and a wealth of college information. The computer centre is supported by an institute-wide fibre optic network and wireless network that connects all academic departments, hostels, libraries, and other central facilities to the computer centre.

Chennai Institute of Technology cafeteria serves hygienic beverages to the students and faculty members at reasonable prices. Separate dining halls are built for boys and girls.

Chennai Institute of Technology’s Shri Parthasarathy auditorium has a seating capacity of 1500 people and a centralised AC system with modern sound systems. A mini auditorium with a seating capacity of 400 people is also available on campus. In addition, CIT Chennai has modern seminar halls for conferences and workshops.

 Chennai Institute of Technology operates a bus service for the students and faculty members that connects most areas of Chennai and surrounding towns.

CIT Chennai lab facilities include modern laboratories that are available to students for practical learning.
