The M.V. Shetty College of Medical Laboratory Technology, Mangalore. Undergraduate and postgraduate programs are provided in different sub-specialties of Medical Laboratory Technology. Admission in Dr. M.V. Shetty College of Medical Laboratory Technology follows a selection procedure based on the academic merit and aptitude of the candidates for the field.

Degree wise Admission Process
B.Sc Medical Lab Technology: This is a four-year undergraduate program offered by the college. Admission is based on the merit of the qualifying examination (10+2). Candidates must have studied science subjects, with a focus on Biology, in their higher secondary education. The college has a total student intake of 184, which includes seats for this program.
M.Sc Medical Laboratory Technology in Haematology and Blood Transfusion: This is a two-year postgraduate programme. Admission will be on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination, generally a bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related area. Candidates are to opt for this specialisation at the time of seat selection.
M.Sc Medical Laboratory Technology in Microbiology and Immunology: Another two-year postgraduate program, admission to this course follows the same process as the Haematology specialization. Candidates are selected based on their performance in the qualifying examination and must opt for this specialization during admission.
M.Sc Medical Laboratory Technology in Clinical Biochemistry: This two-year postgraduate program also admits students based on their merit in the qualifying examination. As with other M.Sc programs, candidates must choose this specialization during the seat selection process, and no change of branch is permitted after admission.
