GIMS Gadag Admission Process

Gadag Institute of Medical Sciences, in short, GIMS, is one of the prestigious medical colleges located in Gadag, Karnataka, India. It is the GIMS institute that has been entrusted with the admission process, designed to ensure that the most deserving candidates have access to the different medical programs being offered by the institute. Thus, admission to GIMS Gadag is purely governed by merit and mainly relies on national-level entrance examinations. To put it simply, GIMS Gadag accepts National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) scores for undergraduates. This examination at the national level is compulsory for all aspirants intending to study medicine in India. It is held in May of each year, usually with application dates running around February-March of that year.

For postgraduate admission into GIMS Gadag, it is tied to the NEET-PG examination, which is compulsory for candidates looking to take on a Master's Degree (MD), Master's in Surgery (MS), or another postgraduate medical course. The NEET-PG is conducted normally at the beginning of the year after which the counseling is held once the results are officially out. Therefore, all admissions at GIMS Gadag follow the admission calendar for the state medical education system. Aspirants need to visit the official website of GIMS and the concerned authorities timely to get updates on application dates, examination dates, and results announcements.
