GCE Salem Admission 2025: Dates, Registration, Fees, Eligibility

Government College of Engineering Salem offers admission to a total of 12 courses. GEC Salem admission is offered to courses at the UG and PG levels. GCE Salem admission to the B.E course is done on the basis of the TNEA counselling process. 

Candidates have to appear for the TANCET or GATE entrance examinations to secure admission to the M.E course. The candidates need to fulfill the eligibility criteria set by the GCE Salem before applying for admission. More details about the GEC Salem admission process are given below.

• The last step is to pay the application fee.

Note: TNEA application fee is Rs. 500 (Open Category) Rs. 250 (SC, ST, and SCA candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu). TANCET application fee is Rs. 600 (General and OBC) and Rs. 300 (SC/ST/SCA).

GCE Salem UG Admissions 2025

The Government College of Engineering Salem offers UG courses for the duration of 4 years. The seat intake and eligibility criteria are given below.

GEC Salem B.E Admission Process

• Candidates have to meet the eligibility criteria. 

• Eligible candidates have to register and apply for TNEA.

• The authorities will release the cutoff for securing admission. 

• The rank list is prepared by the authorities based on the marks obtained by candidates in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. 

• TNEA counselling will be conducted online. Candidates are called for counselling based on the rank secured by them.

• During the counselling, candidates need to choose GCE Salem as their first choice in the choice filling.

• Candidates who have been allotted seats have to log into the counselling portal and pay the required fees. The fee is Rs. 5,000 (Open Category) and Rs. 1,000 (SC/ST/SCA).

GCE Salem PG Admissions 2025

The college offers admission to 6 M.E courses at the PG level for the duration of 2 years. The seat intake and eligibility criteria are given below.

Government College of Engineering Salem M.E Admission Process

• Candidates have to fulfill the eligibility criteria. 

• Eligible candidates have to appear for the TANCET/ GATE entrance examination. 

• The authorities will release the cutoff marks. 

• Candidates shortlisted on the basis of TANCET results have to participate in the counselling process. 

• Candidates have to lock their choice of colleges and courses during the counselling. 

• Final seat allotment is done on the following basis - merit, availability of seats, category and preferences set by the candidates.

Candidates who have appeared for GATE do not have to appear for the TANCET entrance examination. Separate cutoffs are released for the GATE-qualified candidates. GATE-qualified candidates will also have to participate in the TANCA counselling.

Documents Required for GCE Salem Admissions

• Class 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates

• Degree certificate

• Migration certificate

• Passport size color photographs

• Entrance examination scorecard

• Eligibility certificate (If required)
