Government College of Engineering Salem offers admission to a total of 12 courses. GEC Salem admission is offered to courses at the UG and PG levels. GCE Salem admission to the B.E course is done on the basis of the TNEA counselling process.

Note: TNEA application fee is Rs. 500 (Open Category) Rs. 250 (SC, ST, and SCA candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu). TANCET application fee is Rs. 600 (General and OBC) and Rs. 300 (SC/ST/SCA).

Eligible candidates have to register and apply for TNEA.
The authorities will release the cutoff for securing admission.
The rank list is prepared by the authorities based on the marks obtained by candidates in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
TNEA counselling will be conducted online. Candidates are called for counselling based on the rank secured by them.
During the counselling, candidates need to choose GCE Salem as their first choice in the choice filling.
Candidates who have been allotted seats have to log into the counselling portal and pay the required fees. The fee is Rs. 5,000 (Open Category) and Rs. 1,000 (SC/ST/SCA).

The college offers admission to 6 M.E courses at the PG level for the duration of 2 years. The seat intake and eligibility criteria are given below.

Final seat allotment is done on the following basis - merit, availability of seats, category and preferences set by the candidates.
Candidates who have appeared for GATE do not have to appear for the TANCET entrance examination. Separate cutoffs are released for the GATE-qualified candidates. GATE-qualified candidates will also have to participate in the TANCA counselling.

The candidates should submit all the above documents during the time of admission. Candidates should take a printout of the application form for future reference.
A candidate who has passed the 10+2 level examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and obtained a minimum of 45% marks (40% for reserved categories) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics when taken together, can apply for admission to the B.E courses.
The admission to the B.E courses is done on the basis of the TNEA. Marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in class 12th are considered by the authorities while making the rank list. Candidates who meet the cutoff will be offered admission.
GCE Salem admission to the M.E courses is done on the basis of marks obtained in the TANCET or GATE entrance examination. Qualified candidates need to appear for the TANCA counselling.
480 seats are available in the B.E courses at GCE Salem.
Government College of Engineering Salem admission is offered to 12 courses at the UG and PG levels. The courses offered by the college are B.E and M.E.

Go for cse in GCE Salem . It is good college with decent facilities . Decent infrastructure and supporting staff and faculty. About 70-75% of the students from cse course got placed . The highest salary package offered in course is 6.5 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 1.8 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Zoho and Accenture visit here this campus for placements. The average salary package offered ranges from 3.5-4 LPA..

Government College of Engineering Salem has not release the Bachelor of Engineering Computer Science cutoff list for MBC category for TNEA counselling due to some reasons. But it is expected that Government College of Engineering Salim will soon release the cutoffs for Bachelor of Engineering Computer Science course for MBC category.

It's not about the place but the stream that you need to consider as the two branches are very distinct from one another and provide diverse career opportunities. There are just a small number of government-related positions available in the market for civil engineers. So you should choose civil engineering if you want to pursue government sector jobs, which are limited.
However, compared to Civil Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) has a greater number of work opportunities, therefore if you wish, you should pursue this field.
