IEM is the best private institute & oldest in Eastern India.
they provides best education and also they are offering multiple job opportunities to the students every year since 1989. Highest placement record and highest percentage of placement happening every year comparing with other colleges. IEM have a very good industry exposure , sending their students to MNCs for internships and industrial trainings . IEM is very strict to maintain their discipline as a student must have to keep very good attendance. recently they have tied up with amazon and top 5 companies like Tcs, wipro, cognizant, accenture, capgemini are recruits a huge number students every year with exciting salary pacakages. hi,
see it does not matter which institute you are currently studying. gate is a competitive exam, you need to self study a lot to crack this exam. most of the engineering colleges gives no extra classes for gate/ ies like exams since this is not mandatory to attempt for all students. so students who intent to participate in this competitive exam have to make a routine for preparation, need to solve the previous years papers and analyze the difficulty level.
hope you understand.

Hi
This is very difficult to predict because cut off keeps changing every year depending upon a number of factors like
--------) number of students that appeared in the WBJEE exam
--------)difficulty level of the WBJEE examination
--------)Kind of marks obtained by the students in the WBJEE exam
--------) number of students from different categories etc
But yes,
When we go through previous year trend then,
In 2020, in 3rd round of wbjee counselling, then closing rank for colleges asked by you are given below for general category.
Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata:-Electrical Engineering:-17539
Institute of Engineering & Management, Salt Lake:-Electrical Engineering:- 11356
So, with15257 rank , you have low chances in EE in IEM i. e Institute of Engineering & Management, but decent chances in Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata
As per , 2020 cut off available at Official website :- https://admissions.nic.in/wbjeebcouns2019/wbjeebcouns2019/orcr/PrevYearORCR.aspx

Hello Aspirant,
With a rank of 6343, you definitely have a high chance of getting ECE in Techno (Main Campus). You might also get ECE in Heritage if you're lucky however historic data suggests cutoff for ECE in Heritage to be approximately 5800. Talking about IEM, it is extremely difficult to get into with ECE.
Your first question wasn't very clear, but assuming you want CSE in any college, then yes there are many other colleges where you will get CSE with this rank.
Hope it answers your question.

Hi Shreya,
Although IEM is a good college in Kolkata with decent placements, it is strongly advisable not to invest in management quota to get into the college. Reasons for this may be attributed to the followings:
Having said these, if you still want admission in IEM through Management Quota, they charge you somewhere between 9-11 Lakhs depending upon your timing (that is how quickly you apply). Also, do try to avoid any middleman and try to visit the college in person and talk to the concerned committee members.
Hope this helped.
Hi aspirant, since you have 2200 rank in your WBJEE exam so you can easily take admission in the colleges you have mentioned in the question with the branches you have decided so one thing is important in choosing your college among your prescribed colleges you need to remember first that there are two factors like;
College with your desired branch doesn't matter the which college you opt.
Secondly college according to your finance condition.
So it's on you whether you want to go with your desired branch in any of the college whereever you get seat or you may choose college on behalf of your financial condition.
Thank You.
Hello, Shuvradipta. Firstly, Congratulations for successfully clearing WBJEE and achieving such a wonderful result in the exam. Your GMR as well as TFW ranks are pretty good and you do not need to worry much thinking about whether you will get chance at any of the colleges that you desire to study. Considering the General Quota seats , there is a pretty good opportunity for you to get chance in getting admission at Institute of Engineering and Management, Kolkata; Heritage Institute of Technology as well as Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology.
However, it is less likely for you to be eligible for B.Tech in Information Technology at IEM and Heritage Institute of Technology. Although, you may get opportunity to study B.Tech in Information Technology in MAKAUT .
If you want to know more about your eligibility in various departments at various colleges then use the WBJEE 2021 College Predictor .
I hope this much information is enough to clear your doubts. All I can suggest is apply for Round-2 counselling as well as the successive rounds (if you do not get your desired college).
Thank you and all the best!
The college provide great campus with nice facilities and infrastructures . Facilities mainly enough classrooms, library and most importantly full wifi campuses for all students. Proper hygiene is also important
This college is great college indeed with all proper infrastructure and equipment. Proper library and laboratory for engineering students are provided. Proper cleanliness is also well maintained here much.
My college has a well built infrastructure often well maintained. Our building has all the required labs provided they are nicely moderated as per student terms but they lack in a well maintained canteen which needs some serious attention and is way behind in providing sports facilities to students due to lack of space.
