About IEM Kolkata
Established in 1989, Institute of Engineering and Management (IEM) is situated in Kolkata, West Bengal. IEM Kolkata has been ranked ‘A’ category by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council). All eligible departments of IEM are NBA accredited. Yes, mathematics is required for BCA . To be eligible for BCA , candidates must have passed class 12th with at least 60% marks with English and mathematics/ computer science/ computer applications/information practice/ statistics/ basic science/ Business economics with business mathematics/ Business mathematics as a subject in qualifying examination.
The admission is based on the entrance exam score.

To get a clearer picture, let us consider both the cases :

Joining NSEC Now:
- You have secured a seat in CSE, which is a preferred branch.
- If you are okay with NSEC's reputation, placements, and facilities, it can be a safe option.

Waiting for Other Rounds:
- You may get a chance in higher preference colleges with better reputations and placement records.
- There is a risk involved; if you wait and don't get a better option, you might miss out on NSEC as well.
Now based on your situation, my recommendations are :-
- Research Thoroughly: Look at the latest placement records, campus facilities, and faculty of NSEC and compare them with your higher preference colleges.
- Counselling Trends: Check previous years' counselling trends to gauge the likelihood of getting a seat in the next rounds at your preferred colleges.
- Consult with Seniors/Alumni: Talk to current students or alumni of NSEC and your preferred colleges to get a real-world perspective on academics, placements, and campus life.

1: Is there online study material available from the Institute of Engineering and Management?

Candidates must take the WBJEE or JEE Main to be admitted to the B.Tech programme.
