Kanachur Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Natekal, and is affiliated to Mangalore University and recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC). The admission process at KIMS is very competitive, and, hence, it adheres to the guidelines of the Government of India. For undergraduate studies, it is based on the scores in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG). For postgraduate studies, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post Graduate (NEET-PG) examination is conducted.

The academic year usually starts in August-September, with the admission procedure starting a few months prior to that. Application Process 

The application process for Kanachur Institute of Medical Sciences varies with the program:

For MBBS:

1. Qualify the NEET-UG examination.

2. Register for the centralized counseling process as per the state or all-India quota.

3. Choose KIMS as a preferred institution during the counseling process.

4. If allotted a seat, report to KIMS for document verification and admission formalities.

For MD/MS programs:

1. Qualify the NEET-PG examination.

2. Seek admission to postgraduate medical courses by centralized counseling process.

3. Choose KIMS and specialty at counseling.

4. On getting selected, the admission formalities at KIMS are done with document verification and payment of fees.

The method of selection mainly comes from a student's performance in any one of the above-mentioned entrance tests such as NEET-UG for getting admissions into MBBS and NEET-PG to get admission to MD/MS. Rounds for counseling will take place to whom seats would be provided by virtue of the person's merit, their choice etc.

MBBS: The KIMS college has 150 seats for its MBBS program. Admission to the course is strictly on merit basis, determined by the NEET-UG examination. Applicants must have 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

MD/MS: The institute has various MD and MS programs that have a total of 35 seats in various specializations. Admission to these programs is strictly through NEET-PG scores. The specializations available are as follows:
