Nehru Academy of Law, Mangalam Admission Process

Nehru Academy of Law, Mangalam (NAL) is a constituent college, located in Lakkidi, Mangalam, Palakkad, Kerala. Bar Council of India-approved NAL offers several law courses and follows a comprehensive admission procedure to select appropriate candidates. The primary gateway for NAL admission is the Kerala Law Entrance Examination (KLEE), which is the first portal for potential law students.

The NAL admission process generally begins by announcing the KLEE exam schedule. The candidates who want to get admission are supposed to sit for this entrance test, in which they are analyzed according to their knowledge and aptitude in legal studies. The KLEE is conducted annually, and its time table is announced well in advance so that the candidates have sufficient time to prepare for it.

After the KLEE results are announced, NAL begins its admission process. The college accepts the KLEE scores as the primary criterion for admission to its various law courses. Even though cutoff marks could vary from year to year, those students who perform well in the KLEE have a better chance of obtaining admission to NAL.

Application Process

Application Process for Nehru Academy of Law, Mangalam is primarily focused on the Kerala Law Entrance Examination (KLEE). The following are the step-by-step application process steps:

1. Registration in KLEE: The applicants need to register themselves in the KLEE by visiting the official KLEE website. The application process typically includes filling an online form, uploading documents, and paying the application fee.

2. KLEE Test: The candidates will have to appear for the KLEE on the specified date. The test assesses the legal aptitude, general knowledge, and logical ability of the candidates.

3. KLEE Result: After the test gets over, candidates will have to wait for the release of the KLEE results. The result mostly includes the candidate's score and rank.

4. NAL Application: Once the KLEE results are announced, eligible students may apply for Nehru Academy of Law, Mangalam. It is likely this will involve completion of a college-specific application form, which may be available on the NAL website or through the college administration.

5. Document Submission: Students will need to submit several documents, which would typically be:

  • KLEE score card
  • 10th and 12th standard mark sheets
  • Graduation certificate and mark sheets (in case of LLB and LLM courses)
  • Category certificates (if available)
  • Address proof and ID proof

6. Confirmation of Admission: NAL will prepare a merit list based on the KLEE rank and number of vacant seats. The selected candidates will be informed and requested to get admission formalities, such as fee deposition and document verification, completed.

7. Counselling: Seat allotment can be followed by a counselling procedure, especially for courses that are integrated like BBA LLB and B.Com LLB.

Degree wise Admission Process

LLB: NAL offers a three-year LLB programme with an approved strength of 60. Admission to this programme is given to the candidates on the basis of their KLEE performance. Eligible candidates for selection are those who have passed a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

BBA LLB (Hons): Integrated course of five years with an intake of 60. Admission is on the basis of KLEE scores. Candidates who have passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board are eligible to apply.

B.Com LLB (Hons): Another 60-seat integrated course of five years. The procedure for admission is the same as in BBA LLB, with the score in KLEE being preferred. Eligibility requires passing of 10+2, ideally Commerce as one of the subjects.

LLM: NAL also offers an LLM course. Admission into the LLM course will probably be based on a range of considerations such as performance in the candidate's LLB degree and possibly an independent entrance examination or interview process.
