The College is an establishment of the University of Kerala and is placed within the precincts of Kollam District of Kerala. The college, well recognised in the field of excellence in legal education, is also duly approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI). NSS Law College admission is highly competitive, seeking candidates for the integrated BA LLB programme through a process of formal merit pertaining to admission. For the majority of cases, admission to NSS Law College, Kottiyam, shall be through the Kerala Law Entrance Examination (KLEE). It is the main and only entrance examination at the state level for the aspirants of law in the state of Kerala. KLEE is the mode adopted by the college for fostering a sense of impartiality and competition amongst the applicants for admission to the BA LLB programme.
All NSS Law College admission procedures strictly comply with the academic calendar of the University of Kerala. The reporting dates may vary from one year to the other, but aspirants need to prepare themselves to appear for KLEE in the months preceding the start of the new academic study. Eligibility requirements to enrol for BA LLB include the passing of an examination, equivalent to 10+2, from a recognised board. There are no specific percentage requirements, but a candidate must obtain, as a minimum, the basis of eligibility laid down by either the University of Kerala or the Bar Council of India as regards law programmes.

The first and foremost five-year integrated BA LLB programme is this flagship programme of NSS Law College, Kottiyam. The programme was awarded a sanctioned capacity of 60 students, thereby ensuring a good environment for focused and high-quality learning. Students for this programme are selected based on the performance shown in the Kerala Law Entrance Examination (KLEE). The goal of this integrated course is to provide students with a sound understanding of the knowledge systems of liberal arts and law in preparation for an array of professions within the legal domain.
