Pallavan College of Engineering, Kancheepuram Admission Process

Pallavan College of Engineering (PCE), Kancheepuram, is an approved government college with different undergraduate and postgraduate courses in engineering, computer applications, and management. The college has a straightforward admission process, mainly based on state and national level entrance exams for different courses.

For UG engineering programmes, PCE typically follows the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counselling guidelines. It depends on student performance in the concerned entrance tests as well as in their previous academics.

Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) may also be taken as a suitable test for PCE postgraduate course admission. No dates have been provided for TANCET, but would-be students are asked to access the official portals of PCE and TANCET for the application date, test date, and admissions.

Application Process

Application process for Pallavan College of Engineering differs according to the course:

For B.Tech/BE courses:

1. Clear the respective state or nation-level engineering entrance exam (most probably TNEA for students from Tamil Nadu).
2. Get registered for TNEA counselling.
3. Select PCE and desired courses while counselling.
4. If the seat is allotted, appear at PCE for document verification and admission process.

For ME courses

1. Clear GATE or the college entrance test (if required).
2. Apply to PCE directly or through the admitted process.
3. Attend any other rounds of selection if required (e.g., interviews).
4. Attend admission process at PCE if shortlisted.

For MBA and MCA programs:

1. Attend TANCET or other entrance exams accepted by PCE.
2. Apply to PCE through the accepted procedure.
3. Attend for subsequent rounds of selection (written tests, interviews) as per the college requirements.
4. If shortlisted, complete admission formalities at PCE.

Degree wise Admission Process

ME: PCE offers three ME courses, namely Applied Electronics, Computer Science and Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering, with an intake capacity of 24 seats per course. The admissions are either on the basis of GATE scores or on the college entrance examination. The candidates must possess relevant B.E./B.Tech degree.

MBA: The strength of intake for PCE MBA is 60 seats. Admissions will likely be provided on the basis of TANCET scores or other management entrance exams. The actual selection could include written tests and personal interviews.
