PGP College of Engineering and Technology, Namakkal, is a affiliate college in the Tamil Nadu State, India. It is having a vast set of engineering and management education schemes at its sprawling campus of 25.24 acres. There is a rational and transparent approach adopted by the college in selecting candidates for courses by following affiliating university, schedule, and regulation guidelines.

The admission of PGP College of Engineering and Technology is mainly through entrance exams. The college uses scores of several national as well as state-level entrance examinations such as the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Common Engineering Entrance Test & Admission (CEETA-PG), and the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET). All these tests form the foundation for student selection into the program of their choice.

For undergraduate courses, the general eligibility requirement would be passing 10+2 from a known board with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry as mandatory subjects. Postgraduate candidates are usually required to have a bachelor's degree in the same field from a known university.

Application Process

The admission process in PGP College of Engineering and Technology differs for different programs:

Degree wise Admission Process

B.E. Programs: PGP College of Engineering and Technology provides Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) courses in different streams. The admissions to these courses are made on the basis of performance in the relevant entrance tests. The college provides B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering (120 seats), Mechanical Engineering (60 seats), Electrical and Electronics Engineering (60 seats), Electronics and Communication Engineering (60 seats), and Civil Engineering (30 seats).

B.Tech Courses: The institute also provides B.Tech courses in Information Technology (60 seats) and Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (60 seats). Admissions to these courses are the same as for the B.E. courses, with emphasis on entrance test scores.

MBA Program: For the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program, with an intake of 60 seats, the admission is done on the basis of TANCET scores. The candidates who pass in TANCET are eligible to apply for the MBA program in PGP College of Engineering and Technology.

MCA Program: MCA (60 seats) also has an entry procedure based on marks secured in the entrance exam, probably keeping in view TANCET or other such exams.

M.E. Programs: The college also provides various Master of Engineering (M.E.) courses such as Computer Science and Engineering, Structural Engineering, Engineering Design, VLSI Design, Communication Systems, and Power Electronics and Drives. All these courses are of small intakes with seat numbers varying between 9 to 18 seats. These programs are mostly GATE score based or other applicable postgraduate entry exams.
