Shri B.M. Kankanawadi Ayurved Mahavidhyalaya and KAHES Ayurveda Hospital and Medical Research Centre, Belagavi, is one of the most well-known Ayurvedic educational institutions in Karnataka. Admission to this prestigious institution is made in such a manner as to select serious-minded students who have an interest in studying Ayurvedic medicine. The admission process of this institute is done according to the guidelines laid down by the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) and the Ministry of AYUSH for different courses under Ayurvedic education.
Admissions to Shri B.M. Kankanawadi Ayurved Mahavidhyalaya usually commence in June-July for August-September sessions. The main courses taught by the institute include undergraduate (BAMS - Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) and postgraduate (MD/MS Ayurveda) in Ayurvedic medicine. For undergraduate admission, the candidate should pass the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG), whereas the postgraduate level is done by All India AYUSH Post Graduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET).

Degree wise Admission Process
BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery): Admission to the BAMS program at Shri B.M. Kankanawadi Ayurved Mahavidhyalaya is done based on the performance of the candidate in NEET-UG. The institute provides a 5.5-year program with one year of compulsory rotatory internship. Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and qualify NEET-UG to be eligible.
MD/MS Ayurveda: It offers postgraduate programs in various Ayurvedic specialties. It is mainly through AIAPGET score, followed by a counseling process. BAMS degree from an authorized university is the minimum eligibility; the duration of the course is three years.
