Shri Venkteshwar Institute of Technology, Indore Admission Process

The Shri Venkteshwar Institute of Technology (SVIT), Indore, offers various engineering and management programs. The institute follows a transparent and merit-based admission system whereby the deserving candidates enter the programs of their choice.  This entrance examination judges candidates on procedural skills and theoretical knowledge of subject matter pertaining to pre-engineering. This examination is generally conducted twice a year-in January and April, with the subsequent exam cycle expected around January 2025. CMAT, held by AICTE, is accepted by SVIT for admission into its MBA program. CMAT is mostly conducted in January, the next exam cycle is expected to commence from January 16, 2025. 

The eligibility criteria for engineering programs mostly consist of passing the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. For the MBA program, candidates are required to possess a Bachelor's degree from a recognized university. The admission cycle of SVIT usually starts a few months after the announcement of the results of the entrance exam. Prospective applicants are suggested to keep checking the official SVIT site around the time for the application date, counseling eligibility criteria, and other relevant information.

Application Process

The application process for Shri Venkteshwar Institute of Technology Indore is highly program dependent:

For B.E. Programs:

  1. Appeared for JEE Main examination conducted by CBSE.
  2. Qualified JEE Main with a valid score.
  3. Applied for counseling through the designated authority (usually the state-level counseling body).
  4. Chose SVIT and preferred engineering branch during counseling.
  5. Reported to SVIT for document verification and admission, if allotted a seat.

For MBA Program:

  1. Appeared for Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) conducted by AICTE.
  2. Qualified CMAT with a valid score.
  3. Applied to SVIT's MBA program through the institute's application process (for details check the official website).
  4. Attended any subsequent selection rounds if required by the institute.
  5. If selected, the final admission process took place at SVIT.

Degree-wise Admission Process

B.E. (Bachelor of Engineering): SVIT presents six B.E. programs with a total intake capacity of 480 seats. Admissions to these programs occur based on JEE Main Scores. Following are the B.E. programs:

  • Computer Science and Engineering (120 seats)
  • Electronics and Communication Engineering (120 seats)
  • Information Technology (60 seats)
  • Electrical and Electronics Engineering (60 seats)
  • Civil Engineering (60 seats)
  • Mechanical Engineering (60 seats)

For all B.E. programs, the admission procedure is done through JEE Main conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. To be eligible, candidates must pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

MBA (Master of Business Administration): The MBA program at SVIT has an intake of 120 seats. The admission of the MBA program is done as follows:

  • Candidates should appear for the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) conducted by AICTE.
  • Candidates are selected on the basis of CMAT Score and other criteria as may be defined by the institute.
  •  Eligibility includes candidates having Bachelor degree from a recognized university.

 Common to almost all universities are documents required for admission:

  • JEE Main score card(for B.E. programs) or CMAT score card(for MBA program)
  • 10th, 12th mark sheets, and certificates
  • Bachelor's degree certificate and mark sheets(for MBA applicants)
  • Any valid ID proof
  • Passport-size photographs
  • Any other documents as specified by the Institute during the admission.
