UKF College of Engineering and Technology, Kollam Admission Process

UKF College of Engineering and Technology (UKFCET) is one of the finest engineering institutions in Kollam, Kerala. Fully recognized by the AICTE, the institution offers a variety of courses in engineering, right from undergraduate to postgraduate diploma courses. The merit admission process of the institution is devoted to screening a few deserving students through a state or national entrance examination. For the undergraduate courses, UKF College of Engineering and Technology avails itself of the KEAM scores. The KEAM is the common state-level entrance test for admission to B.E/B.Tech courses in Kerala. This exam is normally held in the months of April or May every year; the dates for the 2025 KEAM are from April 24 to April 28.

PG admissions at UKFC are on the basis of the GATE scores of all the students interested in pursuing a postgraduate program. GATE is a national-level examination meant to judge the thorough knowledge of all undergraduate subjects of Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, and Arts. The dates for the GATE 2025 exam have been scheduled from February 1 to February 11, 2025. The minimum eligibility conditions for UG programs in UKFCET include passing 10+2 or its equivalent examination with compulsory subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics. The candidates should have completed the bachelor's degree in the specific engineering branch from a recognized university for PG programs.

Application Process

Depending on the program, the application processes are different for UKF College of Engineering and Technology:

For B.Tech programs:
1. Qualifying in the KEAM examination conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations, Kerala.
2. Registering for CAP based on the central allotment process done by the Kerala government.
3. During the counseling process, mentioning UKFCET and the desired courses.
4. In the event of being allotted a seat, reporting to UKFCET to fulfill the document verification and fee payment requirements.

For M.Tech programs:
1. GATE passing with a valid score.
2. Apply directly to UKFCET through its official website once the application process opens.
3. Submit all necessary documents such as GATE score card, degree certificate, and mark sheets.
4. Attend counseling or interview if called by the college.
5. Finalize admission procedures if selected.

For Diploma programs:
1. Check the UKFCET website for notification regarding admissions to diploma programs.
2. Apply online or offline as per the instructions given.
3. Submit necessary documents which include a 10th standard mark sheet and other pertinent certificates.
4. Attend counseling or interview, if required by the college.
5. Complete admission formalities if selected.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Tech: B.Tech programs offered by UKFCET include Computer Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Data Science, and Cyber Security. Admission to these programs is generally through KEAM score. The total intake of all B.Tech programs together at the college is 450, out of which Computer Science and Engineering has the highest intake of 120 seats.

M.Tech: Environmental Engineering and Management and Power Systems is what these students would be doing for their M.Tech programs at the college. Admissions to these projects would all be based on GATE scores. Each branch has a seat matrix of 12.

Diploma: Civil and Environmental Engineering, Renewable Energy, Robotic Process Automation: Diploma courses have been offered by UKFCET in these areas. Each diploma has a specific intake size of 60 seats. The admission procedure of diploma programs may differ from B.Tech and M.Tech courses; hence students are advised to check the specific details on the college website.

The general requirements for admission include:

  • KEAM/GATE score card (as applicable)
  • 10th and 12th standard mark sheets and certificates
  • Degree certificates and mark sheets (for postgraduate admissions)
  •  Transfer certificate
  • Migration certificate (if applicable)
