University College of Engineering, Thirukkuvalai Admission Process

University College of Engineering, Thirukkuvalai (UCET) is a constituent college and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The college has several engineering courses on its 40.21-acre campus in Thirukkuvalai, Tamil Nadu. 

The admission procedure at UCET is made in a fair manner and with equal opportunities for all the applicants.

For undergraduate courses, UCET provides seven full-time BE (Bachelor of Engineering) courses. The minimum eligibility requirement for these courses is probably the successful completion of 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main subjects, which is common for engineering admissions in India.

Application Process

Going by the usual procedure for engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu, the following is most likely to be done:

1. The candidates first need to appear for the concerned entrance test (TNEA for Tamil Nadu candidates or JEE Main for others).

2. Once the results are declared, shortlisted candidates need to go to the official UCET website to get the online application form.

3. Complete the application form with proper personal and academic information.

4. Upload the specified documents, usually:

  • 10th and 12th mark sheets
  • Entrance exam score card
  • Passport size photo
  • Category certificate (if any)
  • Domicile certificate (if needed)

5. Make payment of application fee by the stipulated mode of payment.

6. Fill up the application form online and take a printout for reference.

7. Wait for the merit list or counseling schedule, which will be uploaded on the college website.

8. If shortlisted, report for the counseling process for seat allotment.

9. After seat allotment, report to the college for document verification and confirmation of admission.

10. Pay the tuition fees and finalize the admission formalities.

Degree wise Admission Proces

B.E. (Bachelor of Engineering): UCET has seven BE full-time courses with an overall intake of 300 seats (60 seats each for five programs, and two Tamil medium programs with seat information not provided). The programs that are available include:

1. Civil Engineering (60 seats)
2. Computer Science and Engineering (60 seats)
3. Electrical and Electronics Engineering (60 seats)
4. Electronics and Communication Engineering (60 seats)
5. Mechanical Engineering (60 seats)
6. Civil Engineering (Tamil Medium)
7. Mechanical Engineering (Tamil Medium)

For all the BE courses, the candidates are required to have passed their 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as major subjects. Admission is probably made on the basis of rank scored in appropriate entrance tests, for example, TNEA for students of Tamil Nadu or JEE Main for others.
