The University Institute of Pharma Science, Chandigarh University, Chandigarh, offers programs in pharmacy from different levels of education. In terms of pharmacy programs, admission is strictly systematic to choose deserving candidates for their pharmaceutical education program.

Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test (CUCET) is the only entrance exam of the institute. It is organized by Chandigarh University and, therefore, is its primary mode of admission for a majority of pharmacy courses.

For M.Pharm, the entrance scores of Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test are also considered. GPAT is a national level entrance test for admission into M.Pharm courses in all India.

Application Process

The application process for admission to the University Institute of Pharma Science, Chandigarh University is as follows:

1. Register for the CUCET: Candidates must first register for the Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test (CUCET) through the official university website.

2. Appear for CUCET: The CUCET-I exam is scheduled from November and will be conducted online. Candidates must appear for this exam on their allotted date and time.

3. Result Declaration: After the exam, wait for the results to be declared by the university.

4. Counseling Process: After shortlisting the candidates, a counseling process is conducted. At this counseling, the candidates need to get their documents verified and choose the preferred course.

5. Seat Allotment: The university allots seats based on the candidate's rank and availability of seats.

6. Fee Payment: After seat allotment, the candidates have to pay the demanded fees to get admitted.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Pharm: Bachelors in Pharmacy offered at the University Institute of Pharma Science, Chandigarh University holds an intake of 55. Admission to B.Pharm will be through CUCET Entrance Exam. Those who have passed 10+2 with PCB/Mathematics are eligible for application.

B.Pharm Lateral Entry: The institute also offers lateral entry to the B.Pharm program. Under this, a diploma holder in pharmacy can get direct admission into the second year of the B.Pharm program. Specific entry criteria for lateral entry are as per the performance in the respective diploma program and any additional entrance tests as mandated by the university.

M. Pharm: The institute offers specializations in Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Industrial Pharmacy, and Pharmaceutical Chemistry. Generally, the admission to these programs is based on GPAT scores and counseling. Candidates can apply for these courses after doing a B. Pharm degree.

Pharm.D: Admission to the Doctor of Pharmacy program is through CUCET entrance examination. It is a six-year-long course for those students who have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/ Mathematics.

Pharm.D Post Baccalaureate: It is also available to the applicants holding a degree of B. Pharm. For entry, candidates may be required to qualify the entrance examination conducted through CUCET or as per other admission criteria set by the university.

Ph.D Pharmaceutical Sciences: For entry into the doctoral program, applicants are usually required to hold a master's degree in Pharmacy or any other related field. The admission process may include an entrance test and/or interview conducted by the university.

Submission of document: All those documents that need to be sent as per university norms. Those include:

• 10th and 12th mark sheet and certificate.
• CUCET scorecard.
• Character certificate.
• Migration certificate(if needed).
• Category certificate (if needed)
• Passport-sized photographs.
