The campus is green, spacious and sufficiently big. In addition to two academic buildings, the administration has begun work on another. The classrooms are big, ventilated and spacious with whiteboards, desks with space to keep books, and a projector. The labs are well-equipped with all required machinery and equipment. A single lab has resources for about 60 students and all labs come up with whiteboards and projectors. The softwares too are regularly updated. Hostels are neat and hygienic.
I am pursuing B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering. The course is regularly updated to keep with the trends- we have specializations in Machine Learning, Internet of Things etc. The electronics labs have state-of-the-art equipment and cater to a student's well-rounded development. However, the set of teachers isn't as good as expected. While there are professors who ensure that their students are gaining knowledge, there are also a select few who don't necessarily teach well.
VIT Chennai has 100% placements. All students who apply for a job, end up getting one. With companies like Amazon, MathWorks, PayPal, Microsoft and General Electric, VIT boasts of great quality placements. There are super dream offers, where pay packages are over 50 lakhs PA, dream offers where they cross 30 lakhs and normal pay packages where an average student is offered 10 Lakhs per annum. The administration takes great effort in ensuring all of its students are well-placed, and is supportive
Depending on your rank in the admission test, you are eligible for a select category. I am a first category student, and pay up to 1,96,000 INR per annum. Yes, the fees seem expensive, but compared to any other private institution, VIT offers decent value-for-money. The fees we pay ensure that the hostels, administrative buildings and most importantly, academic buildings boast high quality.
The college is in the outskirts of Chennai, hence, travelling to places within the city becomes tough. However, life on campus is simply put, an incredible experience. There are over 80 clubs to be a part of on campus, ranging from literature and movies to robotics and automation, clubs are an integral part of campus life. The sports amenities are wonderful and our cricket team is a jewel. The campus fest, Vibrance, is looked forward to the entire year. Restaurants like Domino's too are there!
In my two years of college, I have enjoyed almost every second. I wish the pandemic hadn't occurred. Looking forward to returning to campus!
We have excellent college amenities .Very well developed and spacious infrastructure .Classrooms are wide enough to accommodate large number of students and well designed labs for each department with all the required equipments required for making of any projects or research activities. We have vast sports area dedicated to all the sports. Hostels are well maintained and hygienic. Food is served by two different caters where they provide Veg ,Non-Veg and Special meals.
I am pursuing B.Tech in ECE as I have passion in electronics field. The quality of teaching is good ,all teachers have done Doctorate degree in their field of specialization. Yes we have a updated curriculum with al the recent developments included in it. What we study is to gain knowledge in our field of passion ,but we need to have hands on experience to be job ready. We have to keep implementing what we study into some useful projects which serves the needs of the world.
A college is always judged on the basis of the placements ,that every student secures a job. I am yet to get graduated but we have all elite companies coming for placements .A good range of packages are offered by the companies and it is mostly bagged by the CSE students .On the other hand ,other branches also have a decent average package offered. I have heard good reviews from my seniors. But the new normal ,virtual placements is a new experience for everyone. Chennai is a hub for automobiles.
The fees are divided into five categories ,our rank in VITEE decides which category will be available for us. It is little expensive from the third category. Yes I feel it is worth the money ,because nowadays every college charges very high amount for the fees. But even during the pandemic full fees were charged there was no reduction ,only relaxation was provided that the money can be given in two installments.
Overall I guess I had stayed there for about 7 months and then we had lockdown. My experience in the time I spent there was splendid. I had great fun with my friends .We have long walking paths filled with greenery ,where we can spend some time calmly. Many clubs are present where students can enroll themselves if interested. We had marvelous fests like TechnoVit and Vibrance .Many events keep happening to keep ourselves engaged. Even during online teaching many activities were conducted .
Overall VIT is a good campus which has a good edge than other colleges in terms of placements. Chennai campus specially is very convenient location to students who come from other states, as airport and the railway station is very nearby. Beaches are great place to have fun. Hostel rules and regulations are little strict but for a good cause. We are are surrounded by IIT Madras and IIIT Kancheepuram which can be a great advantage for interactions and workshops.
Vit does have necessary facilities like the smart boards with projectors, vit chennai is a wifi campus. So, there won't be any interruptions in internet. The cafeteria like Georgia, gym khana, domino's food area is maintained with complete hygiene.
The ECE curriculum is good enough for the ones who prefer hardware and software side of the work. And the courses recommended for each semester is comfortable for the students to cope up with.I think this courses will make the job guaranteed.
I heard there are many students placed for the better salary from my seniors. The placement training would be given I guess in the 4th year. College will be supportive and the proctors will guide us during those time of placement.
Yes, The course is worth paying. The pay would be around 1,98,000 in rupees if you are from the category 1. The money you spend here would be worth paying and use the course to the fullest and spend your time to use all the resources in the campus to excel in your field.
The activities that students are engaged like softskills class, foreign language and the practical classes are exciting and interesting too.The location of the campus is in kelambakkam - vandalur road, ranjan nagar, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
I recommend the students to suggest this college.
College Infrastructure College has great infrastructure with all the necessary facilities like labs and equipments. Classroom is wide with neat and clean desks with proper spacing. Library is huge to visit and you will get every book you wish to get Curriculum was of good quality and up to date with the developments in the field. Department was a bit short of permanent facilities. Majority of subjects were covered by guest lecturers but they were domain experts and really helped with all round d
All the faculties are very much experienced and friendly. This College gives us a very good environment for learning and exploring new things. this clg is one of the best colleges for mechanical engineering
Rating of placements in this college is good. The companies which come for campus placement drives are in large number the packages given are also good Teachers are very knowledgeable and are actively contributing through their research. Students study by themselves mainly and the studying environment is also great. The teachers are very much helpful. They are so active towards query of each and every student. They are always ready to hel
As private Institute it has high fees hut also a has provided a good and more enough studies so fees are acceptable as per Position ofcollege and whenever we come on this we always say that fees are not a factor for having good and remarkable college.
Cpus life is very good as we know it plays an important role in life college has provided a very large opportunities to all the students to prove their life and I damn sure that all the students are getting at least a some Goodwill from there.
The college infrastructure is fantastic. We have highly equipped labs and classes. No instruments are faulty or of local quality. The classrooms have projectors and boards and they are clean. The library has 3 floors, Now imagine how many variety of books you are gonna get. We get a wifi of 50 GB per month which is sufficient according to me. The rooms and classrooms are cleaned on a daily basis and are made sure that no dust and dirt are hanging over here and there. Our mess is also good.
I am studying B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering. This branch is well in demand nowadays and is a pretty vast and interesting field where you get to know all the internal things and mechanisms going on in a computer. The teaching standard is fantastic. All the teachers are phd holders and are masters in their field and have great knowledge. The curriculum in our college is world class and I can assure you that it's one of the best in India.
The placement opportunities in our college is awesome. It is one of the hot topics and it is the reason why many students join our college. Around 600-650 companies visit every year which will give you a lot of opportunities. The highest salary offered was around 45-50 lacs and one CSE student grabbed the opportunity. Average salary is around 5-6 lacs.
It is always value for money when you join VIT. The college is a nit costly but it is completely worth it. The infrastructure, the equipments and the amenities that we are getting as a student are top class and it is totally worth it.
Our college life is pretty good. The best feature is that it consists of students from all over India. Worst feature is like, it is a bit outside the Chennai Metropolitan city. Students can engage in various activities and fests. Also there are so many clubs and chapters where they have to do some work. It is a perfect place for those who want to grow in life as you will be getting a lot of opportunities. Teachers are pretty supportive and they are ready to help at any point of time. Good luck!.
I am having a wonderful time in our college and would like to make it the best 4 years of my life. All the friends are pretty much supportive and are ready to offer help at any point of time when you require it. Also the college is pretty supportive. It becomes a bit strict at some point of time but that is only to make us feel safe and happy.
Infrastructure is good and every facility is given by college but as we are doing online classes we are not able to have any type of benefits from infrastructure so yeah that's pretty much it overall it's good
The way they handled all the online thing it's appreciable so I am satisfied with the acadrmics in theory but labs are the missing part because we are able to get everything knowledge from just watching a video
I hope that it's good from what all I have heard I am in second year so I haven't reached in a position to comment on it so I just hope it to be good. From what I have heard that many good companies come here
As we are doing online courses so from what we get it's not that good because we are not able to see any lab and do practicals anywhere it's just theory everywhere but yeah if we would have been in college the scene would have been different
I am not having any sorts of campus life because it's all online now. So this question is invalid for us. About the time I have spend in college that was good but a little bit too strict towards students
Yes, my college has all the necessary infrastructure, facilities, and equipment. We have various facilities on the campus our classrooms are quite spacious with comfortable seating. laboratories are well equipped and in libraries, we have various sections of books to explore new things also the sports centers and our hotels are well-maintained with good hygienic.
I am studying Electrical and Electronics Engineering(EEE) on my interest. The quality of teaching is good. Yeah your curriculum includes various projects and internships which lead us to explore new things and recent developments in the field.
Placements are very good at my college as per my knowledge. Since I am studying the second year in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) I am not aware of placements yet, as I know that VIT offers 100% placements.
College is equipped with all the modern facilities. The academic curriculum is fully updated they have balanced it with industry. Hostel is pretty good. Laboratories are equipped with modern facilities.
I am from electrical and electronics engineering that comes under school of electrical engineering. The quality of teaching is good some best faculties are there in this school. The curriculum is fully updated, I am working in a core electrical domain ?
If at all I talked about core placement (EEE,E&I, Mech) satatisfactory though I got placed in a core company with a handsome package. But CSE and IT placement is ??. Students from core branch can participate in most of the CSE and IT placement.
There are categories it depends on your VITEEE rank as well as counseling, not only this they are having group A and B branch so for that fees structure will change. In my time a 1st catagory student of "A" group branch paid 1.73LPA for academic purposes.
Chennai campus located outside main Chennai city, but it is well connected. Inside campus there are 3 hostel blocks 2 academic block, one admin block and one library. Hostel facilities are pretty good. If at all I talked about faculties not all the faculties are cream but some of them are really ?.
If you are not able to get a good iit,nit or a good state government college and your parents can afford the fees you can join. In the same time if you think you have the potential to do engineering then you will surely get what ever you want after 4 years. A place to grow, A chance to learn ?
Lab and infrastructures are very good...VIT is having a lot of new instrument in their labs and modernised library with availability of many ebooks in VIT Chennai library website..U would to able to access Wifi all around the college
Frequency of teachers and students will be matching very well.. anytime students would be able to contact Their desired teacher for queries.. faculties are very soft and student friendly..VIT is allowing FFCS that's Fully flexible credit system allowing the students to take the courses on their own
Amazing placements with lots of training is given for placements through softskills every year and allowing the students to make the projects with professor and allowing the students to publish it as a research paper with teacher's guidance
It's one of the India's top most college with 1.5+ lakhs as the base price for engineering
It's a outstanding college..we get to expose a variety of culture with beautiful students..
VIT is a place to learn and chance to grow..The best private institute in india
The College Infrastructure is Good, the Hostels are decent and so si the classrooms. Nothing very extraordinary but enough for a common student to enjoy his/her college life. The classrooms are equipped with a decent quantity of instruments and despite some of them being defective, most of them are fine for performing experiments. The Hostels and mess are quite clean and hygenic, the quality of food is also better compared to other colleges.
I am studying Electronics and computer engineering currently and I am currently in my 3rd year. The teaching is fine when it comes to offline teaching in the colleges but during the online classes, the condition is not good. Tough teachers are trying their best to explain to us the concepts but the technology bridges gaps and the overdependency and believing the technology blindly especially during exams is creating some adverse impact for the students. Hope the issues would be resolved soon.
This is what VIT is famous for. It has excellent placements in the IT sector and core sector as well. Many of our seniors have already bagged 20+ lpas and also a very average student ends up getting 6-7 lpas as a starting salary in IT jobs. The core jobs are not as rewarding as IT jobs but decent compared to the pan India scenario of core placements. Also, VIT is famous for its 100% placement records consistent throughout the years.
Although this college provides excellent placement opportunities and also decent education but then too I feel this college is not somewhere where you can look at your overall development to thrive and grow. Firstly, the colleges always have a knack for overburdening students with homework/assignments/lab works/quizzes which sometimes prevents students to explore new things and work on their hobbies. It's very hard to maintain the constant burden by the college alongwith some additional hobby.
The campus life is again something that I am very dissatisfied with regarding the college. The strict restrictions on timings, the absurd hostel rules, and overall the extreme control of the college over student's every single step many times do much less good than bad. While these things if done within a limit, helps in the overall development of the student, but the college authorities overdo it. Rest they are very good with the safety of students and also handle emergencies preety well.
With a rank of 4501 in the VIT integrated M.Tech admission process, securing a seat in the Integrated M.Tech in Software Engineering at VIT Chennai could be competitive. The chances depend on the cut-off rank for that specific course in the current year, which can vary. While your rank is relatively high, you might still have a chance if there are vacancies, but it’s advisable to keep track of the counselling process and the course-specific cut-off to confirm your admission status.
With an 85.6% in PCM, you have a good academic score for the Integrated M.Tech in Software Engineering at VIT Chennai. However, admission also depends on factors like your rank in the VITEEE entrance exam, as well as the course's specific cut-off for that year. VIT's cut-off ranks can vary based on the number of applicants and the competition. It's best to check the official VIT counselling details or contact their admissions office for more accurate information about your chances.
