Tinsukia Women's College is a well-known college dedicated to providing higher education to women of Assam. The college follows a merit system for admission that adheres to the provision made by the college authority and government policies.

The college has a huge number of undergraduate courses with a very strong focus on Bachelor of Arts courses and their different majors.

Eligibility criteria for admissions are various for various programs. For graduation, applicants must have passed 10+2 from a well-reputed board. Some subject requirements may be necessary in particular majors. For instance, students who select B.Com courses must have commerce as their major subject during higher secondary education.

Application Process

Women's College, Tinsukia, has the following application process:

1. Announcement of Admissions: The college releases the opening of the admission process, primarily after 10+2 results are announced.

3. Document Submission: The applicants must submit the duly filled application form along with supporting documents, which in the majority of cases are:

• 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates
• Transfer certificate of the previous institution
• Character certificate
• Caste certificate (if necessary)
• Passport-size photographs, latest

4. Publication of Merit List: The college shortlists and releases merit lists in accordance with the academic performance of the candidates in their entrance exam.

5. Counseling and Seat Allocation: Shortlisted candidates may be called for counseling where they can select their preferred course based on their merit position and seat availability.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.A. Streams: Women's College, Tinsukia offers 13 specializations in Bachelor of Arts. These include majors in Assamese, Bengali, Economics, Education, English, Mathematics, Philosophy, Political Science, Hindi, History, Sanskrit, Sociology, and Home Science. Merit is considered for admissions in the streams based on the marks obtained in the respective subjects in the 10+2 examinations.

B.Com Programs: Three specializations are offered in Bachelor of Commerce, i.e., Finance and Marketing. B.Com programs are offered on the basis of merit, considering the performance of the student in commerce subjects in 10+2 exams.

BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications): There is only one specialization for this course. Admission is done on merit and as per college admission rules and government regulations. Students who studied math or computer science as the subject at 10+2 can be privileged.

BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration): The college has one BBA course. Admission process is as per the general merit system of the college.

PGDCA (Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications): It is a post-graduate course offered in the college. Admission process most likely will be graduation marks-based and could have an additional selection process.
