What is Information Science
India is world-famous for its IT sector, with 75 percent of the world's global talent present, it has increased its contribution to Indian GDP from 1.2% in 1998 to 7.7% in 2017. As there has been a growing demand for trained professionals, several universities have included numerous new courses, and one such course is information science.
It is one of the two main courses that are a reason for IT sector development. Students are provided with the knowledge and skills required to meet the industry's demand both technically and academically.

Eligibility Criteria (UG & PG) of Information Science
For Undergraduate Information Science Courses
Candidate must have passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognised state or central board with at least 55% of the marks with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as the major subjects of study.

If applying through the Common Entrance Test (CET) like JEE Main, UPSEE must have the qualifying marks required by the university.
For Postgraduate Information Science Courses
Candidates must apply for the course within the age limit of 20-22 years.
A minimum of 50-60% marks aggregate in the Bachelor's Degree.
- Candidates must qualify additional criteria decided by the particular university.
Information Science Entrance Exams
Students can get admission on a merit basis, or they can give CET (Common Entrance Test) as mentioned below. Some universities take their test for the admission processes like BITSAT and LPUNEST, whereas there are many other examinations conducted at state levels.
Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main – JEE Main exam is a national level examination conducted in two phases for admission in various engineering courses. Students who qualify the Phase 1, i.e. JEE Main are eligible for phase 2 which is JEE Advanced. The exam is conducted in September.
Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE) – It is a state-level exam for admission in degree level engineering institutes.

Placements: Above-average percentage of students got placed in our college. The highest salary package offered is 12 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 3 LPA. The top roles offered are app developer, web designer, information security analyst, and computer network, etc.

While DSCE gives you scope for more comprehensive and holistic development, BIT trumps DCSE in the academic sector with much better placement statistics. The average CTC offered during placements in BIT(2019) was 6.5 lakhs, and the maximum package was 13.5 lakhs. In comparison, DCSE recorded an average CTC of 3.5 lakhs with a maximum salary of 7 lakhs.
