MPH at MIT-WPU Pune Offline Course

The Master of Public Health at MIT-WPU is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the complex factors that impact public health and the tools and techniques needed to address these challenges and helps students to analyze and address public health issues from a variety of perspectives.

Through a combination of coursework and a 4-week field project, students in the Master of Public Health programme at MIT-WPU develop expertise in a wide range of specialisations, like epidemiology, public health nutrition, and gender and health. Through a combination of coursework and hands-on training at MIT-WPU develop expertise in a variety of epidemiological research methods and techniques, including observational studies, randomized controlled trials, and mathematical modeling. They also learn how to use data to inform public health policies and programmes and to guide the development of clinical guidelines and recommendations.

Public Health Nutrition

The specialisation combines coursework in nutrition, and public health with hands-on training in research and practice to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the field.

Students learn about the role of nutrition in the prevention and management of chronic diseases, such as obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. They also study the determinants of nutrition-related health outcomes, including genetics, environmental exposures, behavior, and social and economic conditions.

Gender & Health

Through a combination of coursework and hands-on training, students pursuing the specialisation learn about the social, cultural, and economic factors that contribute to gender-based health disparities, as well as the policies and programmes that can be implemented to address these disparities.
