Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Bhopal has a Career Development and Placement Cell that helps students in achieving their career objectives. The IISER Bhopal placements cell organises various activities to help the students find the right career paths. The IISER Bhopal placements cell organises training sessions and programmes, career workshops, guest lectures academia etc on the IISER Bhopal campus.

According to the IISER Bhopal placement report for 2022-23 (data taken from NIRF report ‘2024’), the median salary package for UG-4 years students is Rs 9,00,000. The IISER Bhopal median salary offered to UG-5 Year programme students is Rs 19,00,000. The decent packages offered to the placed students after completion of their IISER Bhopal course in 2022-23.

IISER Bhopal Placement Process

The Institute Career Development and Placement Cell takes charge of all the IISER Bhopal placement-related activities and is responsible for conducting smooth placement drives. The institute follows a systematic procedure for IISER Bhopal placements which is as follows:

Students representatives of the Institute Career and Development Cell (ICDPC) send invitations to companies a few weeks before the IISER Bhopal placement season.

Interested students can register themselves with ICDPC and their resumes are made available to the concerned company.

ICDPC then shares the IISER Bhopal campus recruitment dates with the companies.
The final list of selected candidates is provided to the ICDPC at the end of the session.
Offer letters to the selected students are offered within the next three weeks.

Placements

The highest package is 14 Lacs per annum. The average salary is 5 lacs per year. Around 75% of the students were placed last year in IISER Bhopal. The placements provided to students are very good and helpful for them at the top MNC.

The quality of placement in my college very good. Minimum 85% are compulsory to attend and to sit the interview in company. The highest salary package offered so far is Rs 30 lakh per annum. And the placement process because their teachers are support in placement.

The placement cell is functional, which is the only good thing to be said about this. Most appointments (if any) are shallow in terms of future career prospects and leave a bad taste in the mouth if you do not continue for higher degrees in science.

Placements at IISER Bhopal is very good. Mainly candidates after BS-MS degree go for higher studies in the world abroad universities like MIT Cambridge, Harvard, Stanford and Princeton etc. Some of the students take admission in Top IITS for PhD and many students placed in job sectors.
