Agricultural Engineering College and Research Institute (AEC&RI), Coimbatore, as one out of many reputed constituent colleges of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. For B.Tech programs,

3. Based on the TNEA merit list, qualify on merit to the rank order on 12th standard performance.

5. In case of allotment of the seat, report to AEC&RI for the certificate verification process and admission formalities.

For M.Tech and Ph.D. programs,

1. Admissions should be checked for announcement on the TNAU website.

2. Download the application form for the desired program and fill it in.

3. Duly filled application form along with all the relevant attaching documents, including

• Degree certificates and mark sheets for all the previous qualifications,
• Valid score card for some required entrance examination (if applicable):,
• Research proposal (for Ph.D. applicants),
• Letters of recommendation,
• Proof to work experience (if applicable).

4. Pay the application fee as required by the institute.

5. Attending to entrance tests and interviews are included in the selection process, if necessary.

6. If selected, admission will be granted by paying the required fee and submitting original documents for verification.

 Admission Process Degree wise 

The B.Tec. in Energy Engineering and the B.Tec. in Food Technology are the two programs offered by AEC&RI. Admission is on the basis of the merit list for TNEA, which lists students with reference to their performances in the 12th standard board examinations, especially in subjects of Group I and Group II. Each program can enroll 60 students. Candidates must study the core subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics while completing their 12th class.

The M-Tech admissions for some programs, however, shall depend on the written results of the candidates in specified undergraduate engineering courses. Criteria may vary from program to program.

Doctorate: Food Process Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, Farm Machinery, and Power Engineering, Soil, and Water Conservation Engineering are four Ph.D. programs offered by the Department. For the best chances of admission, research-oriented programs would require having preferably a combination of accountancy, proposal for research, maybe an interview; regrettably, within other descriptions there are no clear mentions of those very specific avenues into selection.
