AIM College of Law, Thrissur Admission Process

AIM College of Law, Thrissur, is a leading law college in Kerala, India, providing professional legal education. The college follows a rigorous admission process to choose the most eligible candidates for its integrated law courses. AIM College of Law is recognized by the University of Calicut and accredited by the Bar Council of India (BCI), which provides high-quality legal education.

The admission procedure of AIM College of Law follows the regulations and guidelines of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Government of Kerala. Admission in the largest mode is by way of the Kerala Law Entrance Test (KLET), which is held every year. The entrance test is the chief method of selection of the college's BBA LLB (Hons) and B.Com LLB (Hons) courses.

The prospective students are made to appear for the KLET, and their legal aptitude is determined. The test is typically on legal aptitude, general knowledge, and affairs. Once the results of the KLET are announced, the candidates are ranked according to performance and the admissions allotted accordingly.

Application Process

Admission in AIM College of Law, Thrissur, is a step-by-step process:

1. KLET Registration: The applicants need to register for the Kerala Law Entrance Test (KLET) from the official website of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Kerala.

2. KLET Test: Take the KLET on the given date at the prescribed examination center.

3. Declaration of Results: Wait for the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations to announce the results of the KLET.

4. Counselling Process: Shortlisted students are then invited for the counselling process in which they will be able to select their first preference college and course according to their rank and seat availability.

5. Document Verification: Shortlisted students will need to verify themselves at AIM College of Law. The following documents are normally required:

  • KLET score card
  • Marksheets and certificates of 10th and 12th
  • Transfer Certificate
  • Migration Certificate (as may be necessary)
  • Caste/Category Certificate (if applicable)
  • Passport size photos as recent ones

6. Payment of fee: Once document verification is successfully completed, candidates receive an e-mail with information about how the admission fee has to be paid for securing a seat.

7. Admission letter of confirmation: The college emails the candidate with an admission letter confirmation on receipt of fee payment.

Degree wise Admission Process

BBA LLB (Hons): It is an integrated course of five years duration where business administration is mixed with law. Admission in BBA LLB (Hons) is offered based on the candidate's performance in the KLET. The capacity for admission of this course is approved by 60 seats. The criteria of eligibility are typically minimum 45% marks in 10+2 or equivalent exam of a recognized board.

B.Com LLB (Hons): It is a five-year integrated course in law and commerce. The admission to B.Com LLB (Hons) is on the basis of KLET performance, similar to the case of BBA LLB. The approved strength of the course is also 60 seats. The eligibility is more or less the same as in the case of the BBA LLB course and a background in commerce is desirable but not necessary.

Both the programs have a merit-based admission system whereby the students are admitted according to their KLET scores and performance. The integrated nature of the programs enables the students to get a general overview regarding law and the area of specialization they want to follow (business administration or commerce) within a period of five years.
