Hello,
To get a clearer picture, let us consider both the cases :
Joining NSEC Now:
Waiting for Other Rounds:
Now based on your situation, my recommendations are :-
Based on your research and personal preferences, make an informed decision. If you are confident about getting a seat in one of your higher preference colleges in the next rounds, it might be worth waiting. Otherwise, securing a seat in CSE at NSEC could be a prudent choice.
Best of luck!
Hi there,
Congratulations on getting 103 rank in wbjee.
At the time of counselling you should fill your choice according to the preference of the colleges in which you want to take the admissions. You must fill the choices accordingly. You can visit the official website of the wbjee and various institutes and can know about the cutoff to know at which rank which college is assigned.
If you have filled kgec cse as your 1st choice and jgec cse as your 2nd choice then that seat will be allocated to you which is available to you at this rank. If both seats are available at this rank, then the seat which you have filled in the 1st option will be assigned to you since the choices are priority wise.
So according to your choice filling rankings you will be alloted the seat in the counsellings.
You can also take help of our college predictor which is specifically designed to give you a list of colleges which are available at your rank. The link is mentioned below:

Hope this resolves your query.
Hello,
Details of JGEC College -
Placement : Nearly 70%–80% of students, namely from the CS and IT departments, are placed. The largest wage package, which was provided in off-campus placements, was more than 35 LPA. The largest wage package available for on-campus placements is not more than 10 LPA, and the average salary package is perhaps between 2.5 LPA and 3 LPA. Students are hired in JP Morgan Chase and Amazon for off-campus placements. Students that are posted on campus work for companies like TCS, Cognizant, CTS, etc. There is no information available on internships at our college, and there may even be none. Internships are exclusively available off-campus. Here, positions like SDE and data analyst are available.
Infrastructure : This university offers a sizable library with more than 100 hosts' worth of Wi-Fi access. Despite their size, classrooms are equipped with CCTVs and smart screens. To conduct experiments, labs have high-end, pricey instruments. The hostel offers Wi-Fi. A multispecialty hospital is located next to the college. As a result, it is prepared for any emergency. There is a sizable field for games and sports as well.
Faculty : This college has professional professors. The majority of them have doctoral degrees or PhDs. They have more than 20 years of practical teaching expertise. If there are any questions about any issue, they interact with pupils on an individual basis.
Thank You
hi,
see mechanical engineering and electrical engineering two are totally different stream. however if you compare the two Institute based on placement , curriculum, college campus life and every thing jadavpur university is best institute of west bengal. if you review the placement scenario of the jalpaiguri engineering college and jadavpur university , jadavpur is far better then jalpaiguri. one of the main thing is in JU core companies comes for core sectors departments placement like mechanical, electrical. however most of the government engineering college of west bengal has top recruiter is IT company like tcs, cts etc. so JU would be best to chose for your career.

Hello Aspirant,
The vacancy positions in different streams after Counseling by WBJEE will be filled up through Decentralized Counseling at the institutional level.
Based on this score the chances seems less to get a seat for the core branches in Jalpaiguri Government Engineering college. Since it is very late to answer your query, I hope you have checked the seat allotment.
Do let us know if you have any other query.
Good Luck!
Hi may be you are asking for general category .Actually closing and opening rank varies for each college every year . By seeing previous year trend closing rank of JPEC was around 4800 to 5000 for round 1 but may be this year this remains same or may be change but for round 2 or round 3 there is a high chance of closing rank comes down to around 7000
Dear aspirant,
As you have mentioned that you want to opt between cse b.tech or ee in jgec so I would recommend you to take cse in these colleges because the placements or the engineering sector at West bengal is not good except at ju and iem.
So, if you would take cse there would be maximum chances for you to get placed because there are numerous companies which comes for recruitment.

in JALPAIGURI government engineering there are many kinds of facilities. For the all departments there are laboratories but those are not workable.IN the classroom there are projectors.in the college there are also a library for the students.there are many sports grounds and sports court for the student. for the each year's students there are separate hostels and there are also a ladies hostel for all girls students.in the hostel there are wifi facilities.the surroundings of hostel are not clean.
This college use to have one of the best facilities & infrastructure 10 years back but nowadays the scenario is quite different. The college is lacking in required equipments for study purposes. There is no maintenance & lack of interest to develop new facilities for students.
Our college has a good infrastructure there is an administrative building and there is a central library. There are 5 hostels, and the hostel's food quality is horrible but the hostels have good connectivity water, electricity, and the Internet.
