Yes ,obc candidate can apply in jgec,the obc certificate must be issued by backward classes welfare department in Kolkata,such certificate is issued by the sub divisional officer of a sub division 8n a district.i hope this information helps you.

Placements are not that bad in JGEC. TCS, Robert Bosch and many other companies have recruited from here atleast at 3.5 lakhs per annum. We can rate the college, 8 out of 10 in the field of placements. 

The ECE department is spellbound with its lab having equipments which most engineering colleges don't have is immense. Dedication by professors is awesome.

The Jalpaiguri College is a participating institute in WBJEE 2018 and also admits students through the JEE Main exam.  . Candidates who clear the WBJEE exam will be alloted seats to the WBJEE 2018 participating institutes at the time of counselling for which they will have to register themselves. In order to register yourself , procced to this site : https://wbjeeb.nic.in/wbjeebcouns/root/loginpage.aspx

Counseling will take place from 9th June to 7th July 2018.

After registering for counselling, candidates will have to remit the fees online and then proceed to fill out the choices for their branch and colleges.

The counseling will be conducted in three phases.
