Classrooms have ample space with WiFi connectivity all over the campus. All courses and their respective laboratories are fully equipped and functional. The food quality provided in the college canteen is just above average. we have a huge ground for our sports activities. We have designated boys common room for indoor sports.
the biggest drawback to the college lies here. since our college is affiliated to MAKAUT, the course provided is very backdated and no significant update has been done in this sector. teachers here are highly qualified but there means of teaching in not innovative. they teach like we are like GOD DAMN robots.
The Placement Scenario gets better and better with each passing out batch. TCS and Cognizant are mass recruiters. one can get placed in companies like Google, Microsoft, D.E. SHAW totally upon their skills and knowledge. about 90% of students get placed in my course. almost 50-60% of students got internships opportunities
my course fee is 6000/- per semester, which sums up to 48000/- for 4 years. i personally feel that one should join this college only if you have a money constraint in your family. If you are financially stable opt for any top tier colleges in Bangalore, there you will better exposure to the world and will live a life whole lot different.
our college just completed its silver jubilee this year and our college hosts many events and activities. We the students of Kalyani Government Engineering College join hands each year in jubilation to celebrate the biggest-techno management and cultural fest of Kalyani, Espektro.spektro has remained host to the biggest of Bollywood names in the past like Armaan Malik, Nakash Aziz, Sachin-Jigar, Mohammed Irfan and Prakriti Kakkar. Being a government college it's infrastructure is good and new . It has all the necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipments but it lacks the well developed sport centre. Class rooms are nice , laboratories are equipped with all the necessary instruments .
I am studying Electronics and communication engineering. Teaching is very good and the teachers are experts in their respective fields. The Curriculum is continuously updated by the makaut and they try to improve this by implementing new ways. But i think if they focus more on the practical knowledge like the medical students get. they practice what they're taught so if they provide us with internships, and let us work on projects.
The placements are good more than 75% gets placed some of the students are gate aspirants. Last year a student was placed in Google .there are many good companies come to recruit us Like Tcs CTS INFOSYS AND MANY OTHERS
The value for money is excellent ,the facilities that are available for you against what you pay is awesome. The fees for a year is 12000 rs ,6000 per semester. If you compare other colleges fees then you can clearly see the difference , engineering is a quite expensive course.
Campus is good the talented students have decorated the walls with their art works there are many clubs which are engaged in different activities that encourages the students to show case their other talents and help the students to become all-rounder. Campus is safe .
The college is an old government college and the infrastructure is very large. There are several classrooms in the college. Wifi connection is provided within the classrooms. Projectors are used for teaching. They are in good condition. The hostels are quite good and clean but needs to be bigger.
I am studying mechanical engineering in kgec. Mechanical engineering is one of the best streams and the subjects are very interesting. Curriculum needs to be updated and must include more workshops and Autocad labs for making students job ready.
92% of the total students are placed in different companies every year. The highest salary offered was 20 LPA and the average salary offered is around 10 LPA. Different companies like TCS, CTS, BSNL, Samsung, Infosys come for recruiting students.
The fees per semester is Rs 6000. This is very low as compared to other colleges as it is a government college. Moreover the money is worth the education here as every facility is available.

Now while I am writing this review, I just spent several months in my college. So if I describe about the Infrastructure, I do not particularly have any problem. The classrooms I visited were clean. Till now labs I attended was well equipped. There are no free WIFI facility available in our college. Hostels are also good because we have separate hostel for first year students. I don't have any proper information about hostel food as I do not stay at hostel.
My department is Mechanical Engineering. This is the most reputable department in our college. We have some sincere and diligent teachers in my department. Not all the teachers are up to the mark. Some teachers are just not good. By the way our workshops have most of the machinery. Last year our syllabus were updated but not completely. There is an entrepreneurship cell which helps us to acknowledge our ideas in professional domain (if you have any).
This year many students of our college got placed. As per my knowledge around 70 to 80 percent students got placed in many well reputed companies with good package. But for core branches there are not much campus placements. Only around 30 percent students got placed from Mechanical and Electrical departments.
As our college is a government college, our semester fees are very low. Anyone can afford it. In total I spent around 11,500 rupees in my first year (including fest fee, union fee, university exam fee). But for other semesters we have to pay around 3000 rupees for Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering department.
We have very helpful staff members and teachers. The campus is in a large area. I do not particularly like that fact. Because some of our classes hold in different buildings so we have to walk for 10 minutes to reach there. The cantins are not that good.
The college is an old one with a huge building. Several labs for all departments are present. Workshops for mechanical engineers are also there. A huge library with books of all departments are present. Wifi is provided in the hostels as well as in classroomsThe hostels are very good. There is no single room in hostel. All has to share with four students in first year and with 2 persons in rest of three years.
Here five depts are there in B.tech (EE,ME, ECE, IT, CSE ). Apart from this here M.Tech and MCA are there. Teachers are very supportive and knowledgeable and helpful. They teach us with so much enthusiasm. The curriculum is updated and we keep on learning new technologies.
More than 3/4 th students are placed in software company and less students are placed in core companies. The minimum package is 2.8 lac per annum and maximum package is 6 lac per annum. Two government companies(Wbsedcl, Pdcl) offer 6 lac per annum. And rest of core companies offer average 4 lac per annum and software companies are offered avg. 3 lac per annum
Admission fees is Rs 6000. And per semesters fees is avg. Rs 6000. The exam fees per semester is Rs 1000. As it is a government college so fee is very less and we learn a lot.
Campus life is very enjoyable. Here various extracurricular activity is there like Robotics, Autocad, Dance, Painting takes place. Cultural events and tech fest also take place in our college.
Every department has its own benefits. Every faculty member is good and helpful.
Classrooms are clean, and the Wi-Fi facility is available throughout the building. Labs and library are well-maintained. Hostel rooms are not so good, but the LAN connection is available in every room. There are 2 playgrounds for sports and games. Food quality served is average. Medical facilities are also available here.
Teachers in our college are very much helpful well-knowledgeable and friendly. Overall, teaching quality is average. I think the course curriculum is relevant for us, and it will help us to be industry-ready. It will also help us to apply for new jobs in future. Mechanical department is really good.
1. 95% of the total students are placed in different companies this year. The highest salary offered was 15 lakh. The lowest salary is 8 lakh. Average salary is about 9 lakh. 3. TCS, Tech Mahindra come to recruit from the mechanical department of jgec. Roles like designer, worker in factories are given to the students. 100% students got internships in various companies like DSP, NTPC, Mahindra and Mahindra and other big companies.
Fees structures is very less as its a government engineering college. The course Costs rs. 14155 per year. Thus the fees is very less and there is a chance to learn more.
Campus life is very enjoyable and cool. Here various extracurricular activity is there like Robotics, Computer gaming take place. Cultural event also take place.
one can get a students loan if their family income is low. It's near about Max Rs 1.5 lac including books and laptop
The facilities of wifi is provided within the classrooms though the me department don't require it while in class. Each department and each year have their own classroom. Workshops and labs have all the requirements needed for a student. One get library books every semester and they can keep it for the whole semester. The facilities in the hostels are quite good. For boys hostel uncles come at door step to provide food.
I am studying computer science engineering. The faculty here is very good. Teachers are very supportive and knowledgeable. If you want to enjoy learning and the college life you must join the college. The course curriculum is relevant. But for making the students industry ready they have to take industrial training.
The students get job offer from many companies. Many companies come into the csmpuss and hire their employees. In this year TCS, CTS, GO SPEEDY, E&Y, and some other companies came to hire in the campuss. About 60% students got selected in various companies in this year till now. The average package is 4LPA. Most students get jobs from computer science department.
The fee per year is very less, around 32310. One's money is worth the college. The college offers scholarship for economically poor students and also has low sem fees for all the engineering departments
The campus life is really cool The extracurricular activities are going good. The college has many clubs for these activities like photography club, dance club, music club, art club, robotics society etc. The college provides a good platform for these activities.

Hello,
To get a clearer picture, let us consider both the cases :
Joining NSEC Now:
Waiting for Other Rounds:
Now based on your situation, my recommendations are :-
Based on your research and personal preferences, make an informed decision. If you are confident about getting a seat in one of your higher preference colleges in the next rounds, it might be worth waiting. Otherwise, securing a seat in CSE at NSEC could be a prudent choice.
Best of luck!
Admission to Kalyani Government Engineering College (KGEC) is contingent upon a number of variables, including the particular course, the applicant's category (General, OBC, SC/ST), and the previous year's cutoff ranks. Popular courses like Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) and Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) typically have very low cutoffs, meaning that only students with higher ranks (closer to 1000–2000) may be admitted. In other engineering fields, such as mechanical or civil, students with ranks close to 10500 may have a chance.
To gain a better understanding, it is advisable to review the official counselling details and cut-off trends from prior years. Depending on the cut-offs for your category, if you're applying under a reservation category (such as BC-E), your chances may increase.
Hello,
Kalyani Government engineering college accepts GATE exam for admission. your GATE score must be in rang 350-450 to get admission. As CSE is one of the demanding course and specialization is more demanding from a recognized college.
after IIT and NIT, Government engineering college is best option in terms of placement and fee structure.
Hope it helps!
