Mahatma Gandhi College of Pharmaceutical Science, Jaipur Admission Process

Mahatma Gandhi College of Pharmaceutical Science, Jaipur (MGCPS), a well-recognized name in the field of pharmacy education, to offer various pharmaceutical courses. The college is jointly affiliated and approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). MGCPS observes a straight-through admission process for undergraduate/postgraduate programs in pharmacy. The admission process at MGCPS differs from one program to another. Academic performance in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics will likely be taken into consideration by the college for candidate selection for undergraduate courses such as B.Pharma and D.Pharma. 

Admission to the postgraduate programs of M.Pharma in Pharmaceutics and M.Pharma in Quality Assurance is offered based on the GPAT score. The GPAT is a national-level entrance test for admission into M.Pharma programs. Students aspiring for M.Pharma admissions into MGCPS have to clear the GPAT exam. The GPAT exam usually covers pharmaceutical sciences from diverse angles and is conducted yearly.

 Application Process

The Mahatma Gandhi College of Pharmaceutical Science, Jaipur, application procedures vary with regards to the program.

For B.Pharma and D.Pharma programs:

1. Candidates should see the official website of MGCPS for admission notifications.

2. Download and fill the application form for the desired program.

3. Submit the completely filled in application form with relevant documents, including:

  • 10th, 12th mark sheets
  • Transfer certificate
  • Migration certificate (if any)
  • Caste certificate (if relevant)
  • Recent passport-size photographs

4. Pay the application fee, as mentioned by the college.

5. Attend counseling/interview sessions, if called by the college.

For M.Pharma programs (Pharmaceutics and Quality Assurance):

1. Appear for GPAT, a nationally held exam.

2. Clear GPAT with a valid score.

3. Log on to the website of MGCPS and download the M.Pharma application form.

4. Fill out the application form, and enclose the following documents:

  • GPAT score card
  • B.Pharma degree certificate and mark sheets
  • 10th, 12th marks sheets
  • Other relevant certificates as specified by the college

5. Submit the completed application form along with the payment of fees.

6. Attend counseling or interview sessions, as per the schedule set by the college.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Pharma: The B.Pharma course at MGCPS has a sanctioned intake of 100. Although particular admission details remain unknown presently, it can be presumed that candidates need to have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics. Selection criteria might include performance in the qualifying examination, along with other tests such as a college-level entrance test or counseling process.

D.Pharma: MGCPS conducts a Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharma) entrance examination for 60 seats. Admission to D.Pharma usually requires candidates to have completed 10+2 with Science subjects in the respective state. Based on positions/ grade/ merit, the selection will further, depend on the merits of the candidates and possibly on a state-level entrance examination depending on acceptable state procedure.

Admission to the postgraduate programs in Pharmaceutics will be taken by GPAT exam: 9 students are approved for this program. Only those who qualify GPAT are eligible to apply for this specialization.

Similarly, 9 students are allowed to enroll in M.Pharma Quality Assurance; the program admits students on the basis of scores in GPAT. The qualified candidates can apply for this specialization, after successfully clearing the GPAT examination.
