Mahendra Engineering College for Women (MECW), Tiruchengode, affiliated and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), The college will provide undergraduate (BE/B.Tech) and postgraduate (ME) degrees in engineering disciplines. TANCET Score is of major importance for Admission selection at undergraduate level at MECW. Accordingly, TANCET counseling will be in conjunction with the entrance examination and its scheduling for admission to the various engineering disciplines.
Generally, for an undergraduate program, the eligibility criterion is that the candidate must be a 10+2 pass with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects from a recognized board. For consideration of post-graduate programs, candidates having obtained their bachelor degrees in the relevant engineering discipline from any recognized university are acceptable. TANCET is the primary entrance test for MECW admission to different levels of study and assesses a candidate's capability and knowledge in the subject.
Application Process
The application process at Mahendra Engineering College for Women usually follows such a pattern:
1. Appear for the TANCET examination conducted by Anna University.
2. Register for TANCET counseling once results are announced.
3. Download the application form from the MECW website or obtain a physical copy from the admission office of the college.
4. Fill out the application form and submit it with photocopies of the required documents:
5. Pay the application fee specified by the college.
6. Attend counseling as announced either by TANCET or the college.
7. Hearing with respect to the allotment of seats in case students are assigned a seat, whereupon they will have to report to MECW for verification of documents and admission confirmation.
8. Payment of tuition fee and completion of other formalities for admission.
Degree wise Admission Process
The MECW offers several programs in the BTech/BE level, including Computer Science Engineering (180 seats), Information Technology (120 seats), Electronics and Communications Engineering (60 seats), Electrical and Electronics Engineering (60 seats), among others. The admission procedure consists mainly of the performance in the TANCET scores and then through counseling.
Once again here, the course is BE in Computer Science and Engineering, offered with nine seats, and the admission for this will most probably be based on TANCET scores for ME and then by a counseling process. All candidates with relevant bachelor's degrees in engineering can apply.
