Hey,
you did not mention your category so i am assuming that you are a general candidate. For a general candidate it is not possible to get a seat in nit with this percentil. You much score atleast 90 percentile to get in nits. I would recommend you to give one more attempt in jee mains exam in april.
Hi Vaibhav, Yes of course! NIOS stands for National Institute Of Open Schooling which offers on-demand exam on the request of students. Let's make some quick calculations like if someone fails in one exam in 12 boards then you can give supplementary but in two subjects you will have to repeat 12. And say the result comes in Month of May then you fill the form of NIOS in Month of June precisely in the first week of June and you can take exams in July. Your results will be displayed in Month of August and admission in colleges are taken till September. So you could easily get admission and save your one year of repeating class 12. Also, remember NIOS is a recognised board all over India. So don't worry and also you don't need to give exam in all five subjects you just need to give the test in which you were failed rest the marks of other subjects will be transferred to NIOS from your board. This will be a great opportunity for those falling behind 75% criteria. But I suggest that just cross 75% in the 12th board and it will prevent confusion later as I will give example in the end.
Important Dates for NIOS 2019:-
• Dates of Online Application for April 2019: Admission is open till 3rd August 2018 without Late Fee
• 03rd August 2018 - 15th August 2018 - Late Fee Rs.200/-
• 16th August 2018 - 31st August 2018 - Late Fee Rs.400/-
• 01st September 2018 - 15th September 2018 - Late Fee - Rs.700/-
• Examination in which the students can appear in April 2019
Educational Requirement:-
For Senior Secondary / Class 12th: Candidates must have passed Class 10 from recognised board.
How to Apply:-
• Eligible candidates are required to go to the official website of NIOS i.e. The National Institute of Open Schooling. After that, go through the instructions carefully before to start applying online
• Now, click on the Apply Online/Online Application Form link. Now you will be directed to the other page mentioning about all four streams (their eligibility criteria and admission details)
• Now, go to the login page for online registration and fill the form with correct information
• Deposit the fee amount through either Online or Demand Draft mode
• Finally, take the print out of it as hard copy.
And Yes, Finally you can fill the criteria of getting the colleges in JEE requiring the condition of 75% in the senior secondary examinations if you score it in the NIOS exam.
Frankly speaking there was a friend of mine in 2018 who tried this method and got succeeded in getting above 75% in boards ,it’s easy but you pay attention to the exam , but later he didn’t get marks in JEE Mains for getting NIT’s branches in that very drop year because he was so confused that time in preparation of JEE-Advanced that he doesn’t focus on the Syllabus of Mains exam . Hope it helps Good luck!!
Hello.
The official Jee rankings will be released after the completion of the exam in April. Your rank will determine your chances of getting into an NIT. 96 percentile is very likely to get you admission into various NITs
Hope this helps.
In order to get admission in IITs, NITs, IIITs, you should have minimum 75% as a General category & 65% as a reserved category or you should be in top 20 percentile in class 12th from the respective board.
As you told that you have 67% as a General category you are not eligible to apply.
You can apply for DTU & NSIT, As per the eligibility you should have 65% to apply there.
Good Luck!
