Swami Vivekananda Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (SVIPS) is a renowned and well-established organization in Vangapally, Telangana, which provides pharmaceutical. The institute is very strict in its admission process and has specifically designed it to pick the cream of the crop students for its courses.
The application process of SVIPS is quite in accordance with the academic year, which generally starts from August-September. For UG admission, the institute considers the students' performance at their 10+2 exam for subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Maths. Admission at PG is generally offered based on national-level entrance tests such as GPAT (Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test) or state-level entrance such as TS PGECET (Telangana State Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test).
The TS PGECET entrance examination, one of the recognized entry tests for postgraduate admissions, is usually conducted in June. In the current academic year, the test will be conducted from June 15, 2025, to June 18, 2025. Application Process
Admission procedure of Swami Vivekananda Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences is different based on the program:
For B.Pharma:
1. Pass 10+2 with Science subjects - Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
2. Fill online application through the institute website or authorized application portal.
3. Provide all necessary documents, i.e., 10+2 mark sheets and entrance exam marks (if required).
4. Pay application fee as per the institute.
For M.Pharma courses:
1. Take GPAT or TS PGECET entrance exams.
2. Score a valid score in the entrance exam.
3. Apply via the official website of SVIPS or via the centralized admission portal (if any).
4. Upload all the documents needed, i.e., B.Pharma degree certificate, mark sheets, and entrance exam scorecard.
5. Pay the application fee.
Degree wise Admission Process
B.Pharma: SVIPS provides a 4-year B.Pharma with 60 intake. Admission is on the candidate's performance in 10+2 (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) and entrance test score. One specialization is provided by the institute for B.Pharma.
M.Pharma: SVIPS offers three specializations in M.Pharma that are Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmaceutics, and Pharmacology. There are 15 admissions each for all specializations, that is, in total there are 45 seats for the M.Pharma programs. Admission for the programs mainly is on the basis of GPAT scores or ranks secured at TS PGECET. It may also consist of screening for the candidate based on their background in B.Pharma coupled with their performance during the entrance examination.
General application requirements for all the courses:
They are approachable and willing to help students with doubts and concepts outside of class hours. The college also emphasizes practical learning, with numerous laboratory sessions that complement the theoretical knowledge. However, some students feel that the workload can be overwhelming at times, particularly during exam periods. Despite the intensity, the academic experience is rewarding and prepares students well for careers in the pharmaceutical industry or further studies.
