Vijaya Teachers college Bangalore started in the year 1960 is a renowned college to shape future teachers. This coeducational college is an affiliated college recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education of Karnataka situated in the city of Bangalore. Vijaya Teachers College is located in a small area of 0.61776 acres and has a student-centred environment where prospective teachers can learn. The college’s overall enrolment has been 180 students and the faculty side is comprised of 13 professional teachers. Due to its focus on quality provision of education, the institute provides two degree programmes in the field of education at both under graduate and post graduate levels.

Vijaya Teachers college has several faculties which are aimed at improving the learner’s experience at the college. There is a library and information centre at the centre of the institution with books, encyclopaedas, dictionaries, yearbooks and other publications amounting to 18,620 plus. The library also offers journals, magazines, and newspapers for educational purpose and internet facilities for research only. About the IT facility, Vijaya Teachers College has well developed and knows the importance of technology in the current society. Computer laboratories are provided with required hardware and software, to give students digital teaching-learning material and get them ready for the technologically enabled classes of the future.

Vijaya Teachers College offers two full-time courses: a basic degree in education known as the Bachelors in Education (B. Ed) and an advanced degree in education known as the Masters in Education (M. Ed). The two programmes are structured to take two years to complete the course work and finalise the programme. B Ed programme has been approved for 100 admission and M Ed programme has 50 seat intake. These courses are designed to give the students a broad and extensive knowledge as to the principles of education, approaches to teaching, and skills for teaching in classroom settings. These considered educational core programmes provide a special and intensive connotation in training educations which when alumni enters the college they will be prepare and adequately trained educators.

Admission requirements at Vijaya Teachers College are on the basis of merit, which is a clear show of devotion of the college to quality education. Unlike the undergraduate programme, the B.Ed programme has an entrance exam based on merit; the marks obtained in the qualifying examination / entrance test are considered. The specific selection programme may be gotten from the style of the state government, affiliated UT administration or the university. Likewise, in regard to the M.Ed programme, the students’ admissions are contacted on merit, the marks from the qualifying examination, entrance test or any other test as may be prescribed from time to time by the admitting authority.
