Yadgiri Institute of Medical Sciences, is one of the young medical colleges that operate under the auspices of Yadgiri, Karnataka. This co-educational medical institution has been recognized by the National Medical Commission. The college has promised quality education in medicine. Admission into the college adheres to the standard protocol regarding admission into other medical colleges within India by focusing on selection based on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG). Admission to YIMS essentially takes place during the time of annual NEET-UG exam. A student must qualify for the NEET-UG examination as it is the necessary eligibility criteria to get into the MBBS program offered at YIMS. The NEET score filters the candidate on his or her academic aptitude for getting into medical school.

The candidate must have completed 10+2 education with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as core subjects for eligibility.  The NEET-UG exam will cover topics from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany & Zoology) at the 10+2 level. Application Procedure

The admission procedure to Yadgiri Institute of Medical Sciences is as follows:

1. Registration for NEET-UG: A candidate has to first register and appear for the NEET-UG conducted by the National Testing Agency, NTA.

2. NEET-UG Exam: Appears for NEET-UG on the scheduled date.

3. Result Declaration: Await the declaration of NEET-UG results by NTA.

4. Counselling Registration: Candidates qualifying need to register for the state counselling process organized by KEA for admission into the government medical colleges of Karnataka.

5. Document Verification: Appear for the document verification process as per the schedule declared by KEA.

6. Allotment of seats: will be given according to merit and other relevant criteria by conducting counseling.

7. Reporting to Institute: In case of allotment of seat to YIMS report to the Institute with all other requisite documents for admission procedures.

Degree wise Admission Process

MBBS: Yadgiri Institute of Medical Sciences offers a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program. The full-time course spans six years for completion and consists of a mandatory one-year rotatory internship. This course has the capacity to accommodate 150 MBBS students, implying its capability of providing quality education for a reasonable number of aspiring medical practitioners. Admission in the MBBS programme is purely based on merit from performance in NEET-UG exams. Candidate with 10+2 education with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects is eligible.
