An organized and merit-based decision is made by Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology (YCET), Jammu, for admission to engineering programs. The college is AICTE-approved and provides four Bachelor's of Engineering (BE) programs with an overall intake of 330 seats. The admission procedure at YCET vouches for worthy candidates through transparent and fair means.
Admission to YCET is conducted through the Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BoPEE), a statutory body established by the Jammu and Kashmir State Government. This, therefore, ensures that the entire selection process is unbiased and based purely on merit. The BoPEE conducts entrance examinations for the My Diploma programs and thereupon prepares a list of selected candidates for admission to various programs at YCET.
Minimum requirement by the college is that the candidate should have passed his/her 10+2 in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Though cutoff marks are not laid particular, a strong basis may be argued for the students with respect to academic excellence in these subjects. The admission procedure generally follows the academic calendar, and usually begins in the months following the 12th-grade board examinations.

The application process for admission to Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology, Jammu, follows these steps:
1. Notification: The Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BoPEE) issues a notification for the entrance examination.

7. Admission Confirmation: Candidates whose names appear in the YCET selection list must report to the college for document verification and admission confirmation.
8. Fee Payment: Selected students complete the admission process by paying the required fees and submitting necessary documents.
Degree wise Admission Procedure
B.Tech: The YCET offers four BE programs: Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering. All programs have their admission done through the BoPEE entrance examination. Each of the programs has a certain intake capacity- Civil Engineering (90 seats), Computer Science and Engineering (90 seats), Mechanical Engineering (90 seats), Electrical Engineering (60 seats).
The admission procedures for all BE programs are same. The candidate should qualify for the entrance examination conducted by BoPEE.
