Hello there,
The National Institutional Ranking Framework is a methodology adopted by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, to rank institutions. NIRF ranking system is done on taking ito account different parameters like quality of education, research output, graduation outcome, average packages offered during placements, campus facilities, outreach, inclusivity etc. So sometimes there might be a case when a private college is ranked better than a govt.
Chandigarh University is ranked 77th whereas LPU is ranked 99th. But drawing out a conclusion based on ranking is not advisable.
I suggest you to look after the imporant criteria you are looking for in a college and better go for it.

Hello,
The Chandigarh University is a Private Institute accredited by the NAAC with grade A+. The University is ranked 64th in best Management colleges across the nation. Whereas the RIIM Pune is a Private institute and lacks in ranking. Discussing about the reviews and ratings by students and experts, then Chandigarh University has better reviews in terms of academics and facilities provided.
Discussing about the placements, then in RIIM Pune, various well renowned companies like Byju's, ITC, Johnson and Johnson, AMUL, future group, Paytm, Khadim's, Tech Mahindra, Oppo, CCD, etc. visit the campus for recruitments. The average salary offered to the candidates is INR 5.2 Lakh per annum with the highest salary of INR 9.8 Lakhs per annum and the placement percentage is more than 80%.
In Chandigarh University too, various well renowned companies like Microsoft, Apollo, GOOGLE, IBM, Dell, Amazon, Mahindra, Zee News, Honda, Indusland Bank, HP, L&T, Godrej and many more visit its campus for recruitments. The average package offered to the students is INR 4 Lakhs per annum with the highest package of INR 31.77 Lakhs per annum. In the session of 2018-19, 637 MNCs visited its campus.
So, by discussing all the factors, Chandigarh University is better than RIIM Pune.
Best Wishes.
