ApplyAdmissions Open | Globally Recognized by AACSB (US) & AMBA (UK) | 17.3 LPA Avg. CTC for PGPM 2024 | Application Deadline: 1st Dec 2024
Dear Aspirant,
If you are an engineer then no chance at all getting a call from any of these IIM A,B and C at your academic records. For non engineer too, at your acads it is almost impossible to get a call from any of the three.
I suggest you must focus on getting 99.5 percentile to get into the baby IIMs and the new IIMs like Amritsar, Kashipur, etc.
If you are non engineer then you can get low IIMs at 99.
Hope this helps. Thank you.
Sahil, first things first, it is not a guarantee that 150 marks get you 95 percentile because 95 percentile means you have scored better than 95 percent of the Candidates who appeared for CAT. And even if we go with 95 percentile, it roughly means you scored 90 percentile in each individual section. Now it is not just your CAT percentile that is considered for shortlisting you for WAT and PI. Yor scores in your 10th, 12th, Graduation are also considered. And the stream you have studied in your Graduation, 12th also matter.
After shortlisting the Candidates, the selected Candidates will have to go through WAT and PI rounds. Selection at this stage will strictly be based on the shortlisting of the candidates done separately for each Category ) on the basis of their ‘Final Composite Score. . The numbers selected in different reservation categories will be in proportions mandated by law.
Personal Interview Multiplication Factor (PIF) = 0.50
AWT Multiplication Factor (AWTF) = 0.10
CAT Score Multiplication Factor for Final Composite Score (CATF_FCS) = 0.25
Application Rating Multiplication Factor for Final Composite Score (ARF_FCS) = 0.15
Calculation of Composite Score: CS (Composite Score) = 0.3 (Normalized AR score) + 0.7 (Normalized overall score in CAT-2020) CS = (AR*0.3/30) + (Total CAT score*0.7/300)
Hey there
You have average academics and also your academics is declining so you need to score very good in cat like 99 percentile or above to get iim a,b,c. Usually for these top IIMs you need to score very good but in your case you'll have to be very cautious about your cat percentile if you need these top IIMs.
Good luck

After the AWT & PI round, admission offers are made by IIMA to successful candidates. The final selection is based on a diverse set of attributes which includes performance in CAT, performance in AWT & PI, academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular achievements, work experience, etc.
Every year, a certain no.of top Candidates from each of the Academic disciplines will be shortlisted for AWT and PI based on their Composite Score.
The Academic Writing Test is a 3 paragraph Newspaper like article. The purpose of AWT is not to test your knowledge but to test your critical reasoning and analytical skills. You need to Analyse the line of reasoning and use it as evidence. You have to discuss what evidence would strengthen or refute an argument and if necessary, what changes in the argument would make it more logically sound. Challenge the assumptions and consider the argument to be weak.
Personal Interview is usually 15-20 minutes with the initial 2-3 minutes spent on introducing yourself or ice breaking conversations. They next enquire about your Academic qualifications, your projects in the College and their applications in real life. You need to prepare atleast 2-3 topics of your choice and work hard on them. Then you are usually given a topic of current affairs and then ask you to discuss about it. Finally certain basic behaviour questions are asked.
Infrastructure is really great and has all the facilities that a top college should provide. All moder amenities and requirements are fulfilled and the classrooms are also equipped with modern facilities.
IIM ahmedabad is having world class infrastructure. Classrooms are very good and arrangement in class is very good for participative study and presentation. Library is very huge and having so many useful books.
The overall infrastructure of the college is good , the hostel is available for the non local students , the facilities in the hostels are also good . Good drinking water , air conditioner for the students .
