Candidates applying to the Ph.D. The program are required to take the Common Admission Test (CAT) or a standard test in lieu of CAT. For NRIs and Foreign students, this standard test is the Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).

IIM Ahmedabad (IIMA) Admission Process

IIM Ahmedabad Admissions 2025-26 are open. Last date to apply for the MBA-PGPX programme is September 8, 2025 and the list of shortlisted students will be announced on September 15, 2025.
CAT 2025 registrations are open, and the last date to apply is September 13, 2025.
IIM Ahmedabad Selection Criteria 2025: CAT+AWT+PI for MBA; CAT/ GMAT/GRE/IIMA Admission Test (IAT)+ Personal Interview for MBA-BPGP and MBA-PGPX; CAT/GATE/GMAT/GRE/ePGD-ABA qualifying-cum-aptitude test + Analytical Proficiency Test+PI for ePGD-ABA admissions.
IIM Ahmedabad seat matrix: Total seats for the MBA course is 398. 194 seats for general category students, 104 seats for OBC category, 58 seats for SC and 29 seats for ST category students.

IIM Ahmedabad admissions 2025 are entrance-based. Students must have valid scores in CAT, then appear and qualify for the Analytical Writing Test (AWT) & Personal Interview (PI) for IIM Ahmedabad MBA admissions. Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad offers MBA-PGPX admissions based on CAT/ GMAT/GRE/IIMA Admission Test (IAT) scores, followed by a personal interview.

IIM Ahmedabad admission process for ePGD-ABA is through CAT/GATE/GMAT/GRE or the ePGD-ABA qualifying-cum-aptitude test. Then students appear for Analytical Proficiency Test and the Personal Interview. Students must fulfil the eligibility criteria of IIM Ahmedabad to apply for the courses.

How Can I Apply for IIM Ahmedabad Admissions?

Students must apply for CAT for admissions to MBA programmes. For PhD admissions, fill in the IIM Ahmedabad application form from the official website. The IIM Ahmedabad application process varies for MBA and Ph.D programmes.

IIM Ahmedabad Registrations 2025

Course	IIM Ahmedabad Application Process
MBA	Select the IIM Ahmedabad programme you wish to apply for while registering for the CAT examination and select the interview city preference. Pay the CAT application fees of Rs 2,500 (Rs 1,250 for SC/ST/PwD candidates). The details of the shortlisted candidates will be released by the IIM Ahmedabad.
PGPx	IM Ahmedabad PGPx admissions are based on GMAT/GRE examination. Fill in the academic and personal details required and pay the application fees. The list of shortlisted candidates will be released by IIMA on the official website.
Ph.D	Candidates must appear for GMAT/GRE/CAT/GATE/UGC-CSIR NET examination in the subject . Candidates must apply through the application form released on the official website of IIM Ahmedabad. Pay the application fees of Rs 500 (Rs 250 for reserved candidates).

IIM Ahmedabad MBA Admissions 2025

IIM Ahmedabad admission to its PG programme is done in the course of MBA of 2-year duration. IIM Ahmedabad MBA admissions also offers a specialisation in Food and Agribusiness Management. The IIM Ahmedabad admission criteria for MBA programme is given below.

Students who meet the IIM Ahmedabad eligibility criteria must apply for MBA at the official website.
Valid scores in CAT/ GMAT/GRE/IIMA Admission Test (IAT) is required for IIMA admissions.
Students will first be shortlisted based on previous academic performance and entrance exam scores.
For the final IIM Ahmedabad selections, shortlisted candidates shall be invited for an interview.

IIM Ahmedabad ePGD-ABA Admission Process

Fill out the IIM Ahmedabad application form from the official website.
Students must have valid scores in GMAT/GRE/CAT/GATE.
If candidates do not have valid scores in GMAT/GRE/CAT/GATE, appear for the ePGD-ABA qualifying-cum-aptitude test conducted by the institute.

Faculty member are well-educated and quite experienced. They give enough time for the problems of students. This course curriculum was relevant but students were industry-ready. Semester exams in college were very easy. Pass percentage in semester to get pass was 35%.

Minimum Percentile for IIM A/B: While there isn't a specific percentile to guarantee you admission to IIM Ahmedabad or IIM Bangalore, a 99+ percentile CAT score is typically deemed competitive at these schools in particular for GEM candidates. The percentile is only one consideration alongside your academic history, experience and other accomplishments, so the required percentile is variable.
Is it worth trying without work experience - It is possible for you to get into IIMs with no work experience; however, preferably in particular for IIM A/B, candidates typically have gained work experience along with 2+ other years in the workplace when they apply for an MBA. These colleges want candidates to demonstrate real-world experiences where they were impactful, have taken on leadership roles etc. In other words, if your goal is Management Consulting, the experience in your current job offer will provide you with solid practical experience and credibility to apply later.
Should wait or go ahead with job offer - If Management Consulting is your goal, the real value of the job offer is through the work experience. Over the long term, securing work experience through the job offer is valuable and beneficial to your profile. IIMs really appreciate a mix of academic performance, experience in the workforce and individuals who demonstrate past leadership potential to make the jump into an MBA.
