Hi,

See, as per your query there is a reservation policy which is followed by all the IIMs, it goes as:

15% seats at the IIMs are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC), 7.5% seats are reserved for Scheduled Tribe (ST), and 27% seats are reserved for Other Backward classes and 3% for PWD

This criteria is followed in all the IIMs.

And regarding the graduation percentage, to qualify the criteria you need a minimum of 50% to satisfy the criteria for any IIMs.

Hope this helps.

Hello Niharika,

Hope you are doing well.

You have pretty good chances of getting into top three IIMs for Food and Agri-Business Management. All you need to do is now to score more than 90 percentile in CAT. There are very high chances of your selection as your bachelor is in Dairy Technology which is however related to agri business management.

All the best Niharika !

Thank-you

IIM A offers merit based scholarships for students which is also called 5 Interest waiver scholarship. The scholarship is offered as much as 3 lakhs in the form of waiving off the interest taken on the bank loan for studying at IIM A. This will be done for 1 year. For more information, please visit their official website at: https://www.iima.ac.in/web/pgpx/apply/faqs

And then IIM A also offers need based scholarships through various Channels. There are:

  • IIMA Special Need Based Scholarships
  • SC/ST Scholarships
  • IIM A Exit Scholarships
  • Scholarships offered by the Government of India
  • Scholarships offered by the Alumni

The following facts will clear your doubt:
A) 2 IIMs (IIM Ahemadabad and Shillong) give 0% weight age to Acads +Work Ex
B)2 IIMs (IIM Calcutta and Lucknow) give 7-8% weight age to Acads +Work Ex
C)4 IIMs (IIM Ranchi, Raipur,Udaipur and Shillong) give 11-15% weight age to Acads +Work Ex
D)3 IIMs (IIM Kozhikode, Rohtak& Trichy) give 17-20% weight age to Acads +Work Ex
E)2 IIMs (IIM Bangalore and Indore) give 47-50% weight age to Acads +Work Ex
Beside these FMS Delhi , MDI Gurgaon , SP Jain Mumbai ,NITIE , MICA , IMT Ghaziabad also take CAT scores.

it really depends on your CAT percentile (and of course GD+PI later on). but when it'll come down to the wire, where they will have to choose between a normal chap and an IITian with a 90+ SSC and HSC; sorry to say, you (we) might end up disappointed.
REASON: mainly because of the stiff competition, a lot of students get par the 99 percentile barrier and the when the stakes are so high even the most minute things make a big difference - which includes your background acads which unfortunately can't be altered.
MY SAY: don't focus on these stats, focus on one and only one thing - CAT, because if you don't get a good CAT percentile, nothing will save you from the cut - not even your star studded history.
