Hi. If you want to appear in CAT 2018, then you should start preparing now. The earlier you start, the better it is. And if you want to appear in CAT 2019, then also you can start preparing now and take on the course slowly.

Thank You!

Hi! There is no direct link between percentile secured and IIM fee. If you are selected by an IIM you have to pay the fee as per the institute.

There is a conventional MBA in IIMB , which is post graduate program in management (treated like MBA) . And course fee is 18.7lakh

Other than IIM B too MBA colleges in Bangalore are:

  • Xavier institute of Management and entrepreneurship (Min cut off: CAT - 75 MAT - 75 XAT - 75 CMAT - 300 GMAT - 600)
It has an avg salary as 7.7 L and a fees if 11.9 L

  • AIMS institute (Min cut off: CAT - 60 MAT - 70 XAT-  60 GMAT - 500 ATMA - 60 KMAT-  60 CMAT-  150)
        It's fees is around 9.1 L

  • Institute of Management, Christ university (Min cut off: MAT - 600 GMAT - 450)
It has an avg salary of 6.6 L and a fees is 6.8 L

  • IFIM Business school ( It's avg. Package is 5 L and fees is around 9.6 L)

  • Alliance school of business, Alliance university ( It's avg package is 8.2 L and fees is around 13.5 Lakh)

  • Welingkar institute of Management development and research (It's avg package is 4 L and fees is around 8.6 L)

  • Indus business academy ( Min cut off: GMAT - 500 CMAT - 150 ATMA - 65 KMAT - 65 CAT - 60 MAT - 65 XAT-  60 MAH CET - 65) It's avg package is around 5.4 L and fees is 6.7 L.

  • Symbiosis institute of business management (It's avg package is 7.7 L and fees is 12.7 L)

  • PES university (Min cut off: CMAT - 50 CAT - 50 MAT - 500 GMAT - 450) It's avg package is around 4.5 L and fees is 8 lakh

So prepare well for the exams and aim for higher percentile in order to convert your call and get a good college. Make sure you keep on analysing your mock test in order to improve your percentile.

    • All the best for your preparations and exams!

Not only IIM B but all IIM demands from you to have min 90 percentile in order to make you eligible for evaluation. After you become eligible with their min requirements like 90 percentile and min 50% in 10th, 12th, graduation then you are being evaluated on your profile.

Every college has different weightage for 10th, 12th, graduation, work experience, engineer or non engineer, gender diversity and CAT marks. On the basis of all these parameters aggregate score of all eligible students is made and then accordingly top students are called for interview round.

After your interview round again with different weightages on parameters as I mentioned earlier including weightage for interview and essay writing a new and final list is made. On which according to number of seats available the top students are selected rest are given their waiting number. If any of the selected student does not enroll himself in the college within the time mentioned then he/she is removed and your waiting list moves up. This way college keep on doing different rounds until all seats are occupied in their college.

This is the whole procedure of selection and according to this from past history you need to have atleast 99+ percentile to get a call for interview. Final Selection will depends a lot on your interview and essay writing performance because they have more weightage in final list.

In case of IIM B it becomes a little more complicated because they give a way more weightage to work experience and also to the students who have done excellent in their academics earlier like scoring above 97 percentage in 10th, 12th.

In case of IIM A and C you need to have above 99.7 percentile along with a very good academic profile. One of my friend didn't got a call from IIM A and B even after scoring 99.83 percentile.

So it's not easy my friend aim for a very high percentile in order to get a call for interview and convert it.

All the best!

See in IIM Bangalore it provides 3 courses:

  • PGP: This ia full time post graduation program for two years and it's fees is 18.7 lakh which could be changed before admission of new batch.

  • PGPPM: It is a 1 year course of post graduation program in public policy management with a fees of 11.6 lakh.

  • PGPEM: This is a post graduation program in enterprise management. It is a 22 month weekend residential program mainly for working professionals and is equivalent to executive postgraduate program held in other IIMs. It has a fees of 14.5 lakh.

Remember IIM Bangalore generally prefers a high work experience students for normal PGP program or the one who has performed outstandingly in 10th and 12th like scoring above 97 percentage in both the exams. So aim for a very high percentile like above 99.6 for general category in order to get a call for interview.

All the best for your preparations and exam!!

First of all don't aim for any specific college. Keep an aim to get into top most college. The college you are aiming is slightly different from other IIMs as it gives much more weightage to work experience and excellent academic records.

For your CAT 2018 preparations if you are not joining any coachings like T.I.M.E. or Career Launcher then you would need to start working on your basics for all the 3 sections first.

Start quant section with preparations from books like Arun Sharma which is pretty good for quantitative ability. Start reading lots of novels by famous writers like Charles Dickens and various good newspapers like Hindu which will help you in improving your performance in verbal ability section. For improving your vocabulary you should start memorizing 5 new words daily with their meaning and correct pronounciation and use them in your daily conversations so that you can memorize them properly. For RC section start reading passages and understand the thought process of author and tone in which he/she is communicating with you. Also try to figure out message it wants to deliver. This will help you in answering most of the questions asked below the passage.

Along with this all through the year keeps on attempting lots of online mock test and analyse solutions of each mock test which will help you in overcoming your mistakes and come up with a strategy to attempt your paper which will definitely help you in improving your marks and percentile.

In short work very hard on your basics first so that it helps you in solving paper with speed and accuracy and give lots of mock test with analysing their solutions to improve your score.

All the best!!

This college provides free Wi-Fi, laboratories, and 24X7 library. The internships are great to understand what field is the best for students, and they can also earn money while they are ATIT. The campus library is one of the best features of this college, and as a voracious reader, I spend the majority of my time there.

Good college with good infrastructure and placements.
