Ideally you should have been eligible or atleast received a Call from 3 of the Top IIMs, BLACKI. Being from Non Engineering Background, and secondly after Securing 99.94 Percentile in CAT, its highly unusual. However, it does happen, and you may have lost points for your average Academic Record as well as Points due to No Work Experience.

However, Do keep hope, as All IIMs have yet not released their Call Lists. Secondly, their are many Excellent Management Institutes other than IIMs like Management Schools of Top IITs like VGSOM, SJSOM, DMS IIT Delhi as well as Top Management Institutes like FMS Delhi, MDI Gurgaon, IMT Ghaziabad, SPJIMR, NITIE and JBIMS Mumbai, and you must participate in the respective application processes.

Hello Aspirant,

See your academic record is average so you need to get little higher percentile in CAT to get either IIM Calcutta or IIM Kozhikode as these IIMs are known as top IIMs and there fore the cut-offs are also quite high. So in order to get a call from either of the IIMs you need to secure your percentile at least 98 or more.

Note that the above prediction is made on the basis of previous year's selection results and only CAT percentile but while shortlisting of candidates for WAT/GD-PI round academic criteria of candidate also comes in play means your academic performance in class 10th and 12th, you graduation percentage, graduation background and Job experience is also considered for admission to IIMs and other B-Schools in India and the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors such as the number of candidates appearing in an examination, the number of candidates qualifying an examination, difficulty level of the paper, and so on.

To check the cut-off of all IIMs and other B-schools, kindly check out the link given below :-

You can also use CAT Pathfinder to know your chances to get call from IIMs or other B-Schools :-

I hope this information helps you.

Good Luck!!

Hello,

Eligibility criteria to appear for CAT is that a candidate must have passed bachelor's degree from a recognised board. Candidates belonging to general category/EWS/OBC-NCL must score minimum 50% aggregate or equivalent CGPA. Candidates belonging to SC/ST must score minimum 45% marks or equivalent CGPA. Candidates who are appearing in the final year of the qualifying exam are also eligible. So if you score the required percentage you are eligible.

Final admission in to IIMs is based on marks scored in CAT, past academic performance, experience and performance in the interview. As long as you have passed class 10th from a recognised board you will be eligible for the admission provided you must fulfill all other requirements.

Until and unless you have graduated in any three or four year Bachelors Degree be it full time or distance, you are eligible for appearing in CAT Exam.

Getting into IIM Calcutta depends on your performance in CAT, henceforth if you get a call, your performance in Graduation, Written Aptitude and Ability Test as well as Personal Interview will be considered.

Hello

IIM Calcutta gives 56% weightage to CAT score whereas it gives 40% weightage to Academics and 4% weightage to Gender Diversity. You neet to score a minimum of 85 percentile to be eligible for admission here. If you score above 80% in 10th you will be given a score of 10 and if you have scored above 80% in 12th you will get a score of 15 whereas 15% marks will be reserved for bachelor's degree score. Gender Diversity factor (Women candidates) will get 4% marks.

Hi Aspirant,

According to the official notice by IIM Calcutta, to pursue MBA or MBA ex program the first criteria required to apply is you have to have a bachelors degree with minimum of 10+2+3 formal education and with 50% equivalent marks or CGPA.You need to give CAT exam in order to appear for shortlisting of personnal interview and written ability test .The criteria for section 1 of cat requires greater or equal to 65 for OBC,DILR section requires greater than or equal to 65 and VA section requires greater than or equal to 60.So total percentile for cat required is greater or equivalent to 75 for NC OBC.

If you have a good score in Cat and have bachelors degree then you can surely get into this prestigeous college.

Regards!!

hi,

see iims shortlisted candidates based on academic score, professional experience and the cat score. however it also depends on other factors like number of participants, questions difficulty level, students category, overall the profile of candidates etc. so it is quite difficult to predict whether you would get shortlisted or not. however right now you have to study hard to achieve a excellent score in CAT to make the maximum possibility of shortlisting.
