CAT 2024 examination for admission to IIM Jammu MBA programme was conducted on November 24, 2024.
As IIM had old campus now it has started in newly inaugurated beautiful Gods own campus, Construction is almost completed but still some portions is under construction. Furthermore, talking about the infrastructure part of academic block and hostel is quite good and the acad block touches world class infrastructure.
Currently I am pursuing it's plagship program MBA core because among every baby iims it is performing well. The quality of teaching is decent and the teachers are student friendly The academic curriculum over here is updated with its growing world class infrastructure. The quality that we are getting over here is obviously make us job ready but different for different sectors.
Talking about the quality of placement at our college it is providing decent package in Finals as of now it has touched highest package of around 30-40 LPA and average package of 16-17 in MBA core program. Still some of the students are in placement process. In case of Summer placement, as we all know the condition is quite low for every B-school so for that I would say it's going same here also Apart from that It has its special program of MBA in HAHM which is also performing well in placement.
As compared to the investment we did in case of Summer we haven't get worthed package but we are expecting good package in final placement.
Talking about the campus life it has quite good system every student engage with the some activities of clubs and committees which makes us more productive in our campus life. Talking about the teachers they are really friendly with students, any issues and problems we can address to them.
So far I have experienced good in every aspect associated with the college but there is some issues over here also as it is a baby IIM.
The transit campus where I reside has average infrastructure facilities, while the new permanent campus is very good in infrastructure. We have wifi facilities inside the campus. We also have a decent library in the transit campus while library in the permanent campus is excellent.
The quality of the teaching is good. We have decent faculties. The curriculum is well structured. The curriculum is also well balanced so that we study different subjects. Here, I study various courses. Starting from accountancy and till performing arts, we have a wide range of subjects.
Placements are also pretty good. A new course started in this college which is known as Hospitality and Hotel Management had its 100% placement. Last year the average package was Rs. 16.50 LPA. They also had their highest package of Rs. 64 LPA the same year.
Definitely it is worth the money that we spend.
Campus life is good. We celebrate every festival with joy. Transit campus is located at the heart of the city while the permanent campus is far from the city but has all facilities inside the campus itself.
New campus is now inaugurated and the structure and property is worth 500 crores, making every money spent worth it. There is also need for transportation facility but the rest is great. The beauty in between Himalayas.
Academic wise, the rules and regulations are quite simple and the program office is also not much bothering. There's still new faculties coming up and many quality output is generated in classrooms. The courses are also corporate ready
Good place to start off the journey as a fresher. If experienced then would recommend them going to other programs. This has more networking based placement and alumni focused expansion in their process.
Very happening.
The new Jagti campus is well equipped with all the amenities from world class classrooms, projectors, set up for virtual classes as well. The overall infrastructure is supported by trained staff members responsible for cleaning and maintenance of academic block to hostels.
The subject are varied from different streams such as marketing, finance, analytics, etc. The courses are supported by top class materials such as books and case studies. Also the professors are knowledgeable and supportive in the wellbeing of students.
Placement is average. Due to current market conditions the recent passing batch did not received much high packages as expected for a Premium B school of India. Also the Summer Internship placement were average. Though everyone gets placed eventually.
Considering this is the newest IIM the speed at which this is growing is commendable in terms of providing better opportunities for students. Also the gender ratio is better here. I believe overall the money's worth is dependable on how much a person is able to experience the diversity and network they create along with knowing about the different industries. So for me it has been good so far.
The campus is beautiful, a walk between mountains is refreshing and you can directly view vaishnodevi mata moutain from here as well. Within campus the main festivals are celebrated regularly. The national festivals are celebrated with a more enthusiasm. Annual fest is also conducted. Medical center is their in campus, doctor visits daily for 1-2 hours and available via phone calls.
Not a very good infrastructure at this moment but this will improve when we would be moving to our new campus, jagti in the month of september 2024 for IPM Batch. Although there are basic amenities which are there on this campus.
Faculty is outstanding, we’ve had padma shree awardee faculties teaching in subjects like performing arts. Apart from this all the faculties are PHD from institute of national importance such, which include NITs, IITs, IIMs etc
We’ve had an average package of 16.5 lakhs last year, it might improve in the coming years. This is growing at a high rate and is subjected to go upto 26 lakhs until our graduation, it is expected to grow even more.
It’s not so much value for money, fees is on a higher side and it might not justify the fees to average ratio but in the long term it will all be worth it. The fees for the ipm batch is almost 40 lakhs.
Campus life is quite amazing, we’ve got nescafe here where people spend almost all of their time. Peers are quite amazing and this quality of these people make the life here better and worth living for one.
The college provides great infrastructure facilities wherein we have double and triple sharing rooms equipped with bed, mattress and cupboard and also table and chair if you are lucky. Library has a great collection of books and magazines. Sports facilities include cricket ground, football ground, badminton court, volleyball court, basketball court, table tennis room and a semi-equipped gym.
The subjects taught here are really good and you can become a generalist by diligently studying all the subjects but you cannot expect a lot of help from faculties. While most pf them are supportive some of them don't even have knowledge of their subject.
Considering the fact that IIM Jammu is a baby IIM, the placements are really good and rapidly increasing. By the time we will sit in placements, we are expecting placements of be of same level as that of new IIMs in the worst case.
The fees at IIM Jammu are more-or-less same as that of most of tier-1 and tier-2 colleges and I believe that it's better to pay fees at an IIM rather than some private college as the admission here comes with a security for your MBA.
Campus life is what we are paying fees for. I learn more by socializing than by studying. Everyone here s good at studies, it is your social interaction that sets you apart. In the end, college life is all about making connections.
Poor infrastructure. Students live in poor conditions. It requires lot of time and efforts to convince administration to get the taps and flushes of our washrooms repaired. It has been 4 months here, and we don't even have study table or chair in our rooms yet.
Curriculum is average and mundane, but faculties are good. Class learnings are average; what we learn while completing assignments and giving presentations is actually what makes it stand out as an IIM.
Studying in first year, so cannot comment on placements. But what we have heard from seniors, based on that it could be said that the institute places it students in nice and decent companies with quality work.
Fees is very high. Against this fees, education provided and infrastructure given seems dull. Funds given for cultural and sports events are very tight. Facilities provided against the money taken is not good.
Campus Life is really good. Guards, warden, cleaning staff, etc. are genial and friendly. There is no hostel curfew, so students can stay out as long as they want, engaging in late night sporting activities, jamming, groupings etc.
Under construction, but undoubtedly gonna be one of the best ones across country, rather the whole world. Even the off campus, temporary one located in Canal Road is decent enough. You’ve got amenities for all your basic needs.
Great academics. We study subjects ranging from business communication, principles of computational thinking, accountancy, mathematics to sociology. It gives you the knowledge of all the domains here and that’s why the course IPM is special in itself.
Outstanding placements and still growing at a high rate than that of other IIMs. We’ve had an average package of 16.5 lakhs, highest 64 lakhs last year which is much higher than that of other IIMs at this level.
A bit on an expensive side. Fees is the only thing which makes someone a bit sad, 17 lakhs for 2 years is a bit on a higher side.
We’ve got a great set of peers, mixture of a great learning experience and great social life. The campus is operational 24*7 and we’ve got Nescafé inside it which is always accessible for all the students, staffs, faculties.
Overall a great college with excellent future aspects.
The new campus is under construction so there are teething problems in this initial stage but the facilities provided will get better with time. It has all basic facilities, the auditorium is under construction as well as sports complex is also under construction
The faculty of every subject is well divided. The sessions are conducted online as well as offline. The curriculum is updated and is rigorous as it include subjects from every domain. The committee and clubs are also devoted for the academic operations.
Many companies visit the campus, but this year it is a bit low as the market is slow. The placement data for the current year has not been released but the last year data had highest salary at 64 LPA, the average at 16.5 LPA and the placement process is well managed by the placement committee.
As we are currently living in our old campus, the infrastructure is average - we have good infrastructure of classrooms and campus surroundings but when it comes to hostel, library and sports we lack a lot. But we are confident that once we go to our permanent campus things change. The food is very suitable for everyone with wide varities and hygiene but there's issue with the cost as the mess bill here is very high.
The curriculum, subjects and teachers are same as of MBA. We learn the same topics now so it will be a major advantage for us in our MBA. The subjects in IPM are very wide with Subjects ranging from commerce, science and arts. I am not sure whether what we learnt makes us job prepared but I am definitely sure that the projects, presentations and curriculum makes us job ready as the curriculum doesn't just focus on exams but other activities as well which are very important in real life.
The placements of the college is going really good having 100% placement every year . Last year the college has seen its best placements record having highest package of 64lpa and average package of 16.71lpa. Though this year they are facing difficulty due to the recession period but I am confident that everyone will get placed good. As of now no IPM batch were yet to start mba - so not sure about IPM batch but it will go similar to that of MBA.
The programme cost is very high with 40lpa and don't get proper infrastructure. The facilities offered for the price is very low. Many private colleges also have less fees comparitively with more facilities. The placements are good but on a relative note many tier 2 IIMs have less fees than IIM J with better placements. We have a fee of 4.85lpa per each year in BBA and the mba fee will be same as MBA at that time. The fee for IPM kept increasing as our juniors paying 5.39lpa per year in BBA.
One of the best thing about the college is it's culture and campus life. The campus never sleeps. Everyone here experience tiring days and sleepless nights but one doesn't mind as the night life at IIM J is one of the best. They day is filled with back to back classes, quizzes, assignments, projects and presentations and your evening will be occupied with committees and club activities

Hello aspirant,
It is well said , " Scope means not the height career had achieved, it means the height to which you can make your career reach. "
If you are interested in public services and want to help others, you can go for MBBS.
If you are interested in corporate job, entrepreneurship, business and more, go for BBA AND MBA.
Both fields are very good. If you still have confusion, go for career counselling test online or offline. You can also talk to your teachers and parents.
If you don't want to do either, write down your thoughts mentioning what you don't want to do, you will automatically know what to do.
All the best.
