72 MonthsPh. D Social Work is minimum 3 years and maximum 6 years duration course offered by Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi. The Ph.D. Programme in the social work will enable candidates from across the county, and particularly from far-flung areas and states/union territories, where there are no schools of social work, to pursue their research work leading to a doctoral degree. Currently, the school has admitted three Research and Teaching Assistantship (RTAs) in 2009 for its doctoral programme in social work.
Eligibility Criteria
Possesses Master’s Degree from a University recognized by UGC or any other qualification recognized as equivalent thereto in such fields of study as are notified for the purpose from time to time by the University with at least 55% marks [50% marks in the case of SC, ST, OBC (Non-creamy Layer) and Differently-Abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of UGC from time to time, or for those who had obtained their Master’s Degree prior to 19th September, 1991]excluding grace mark.
