The institute provides all the required facilities to students with an aim to provide an environment conducive to research and learning. TIFR Mumbai facilities are computing facilities, an information resource centre containing books, journals, reference books, a boys hostel, a girls hostel, a guest house, an auditorium with an accommodation capacity of more than 1000 people, seminar halls capable of hosting more than 100 participants at a time etc. Furthermore, the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research Mumbai facilities list includes transport services, medical facilities, gym and sports facilities.

TIFR Mumbai has a building to offer accommodation facilities to postdoctoral fellows. They are offered fully furnished flats with a gas stove and refrigerator.
The rent to be given by postdoctoral fellows to live in small flats is Rs. 200. All the flats are fully furnished having a kitchen with a gas stove and refrigerator.
TIFR Mumbai medical clinic caters to the students, faculty and staff. Full-time medical officers, with two nurses and one and boy, is there to provide medical facilities at TIFR Mumbai.
TIFR Mumbai has a huge recreation centre established to offer recreational facilities. This includes a well equipped and maintained gym where physical fitness courses are conducted.
Scientific Information Resource Centre abbreviated as SIRC has a vast collection of books covering the subjects like astronomy and astrophysics, chemical physics, theoretical computer science, matter physics, high energy physics, etc. SIRC subscribed to foreign journals, electronic resources, non-books materials; theses, maps, audiovisual materials.
The Sports Club manages the sports activities of TIFR Mumbai. A room for yogic exercise, table tennis and admonition courts are there in the institute.
Tata Institute of Fundamental Research Mumbai has a modern and updated IT infrastructure fulling the basic requirements of students and faculty.
TIFR Mumbai has several eateries that provide services from 8 am to students, staff, residents and guests. There are other eateries: West Canteen, East Canteen and Jagdish Canteen.
TIFR Mumbai auditorium named Homi Bhabha Auditorium is fully air-conditioned and have a seating capacity of over 1000 people. It has all the modern facilities required for a professional auditorium that included sound and lighting arrangements, Kate's audiovisual technology, projection facilities etc.
TIFR Mumbai central workshop facilities include conventional machining (turning, milling, grinding (external & internal), engraving welding fitting carpentry painting maintenance of machines CNC (computer numerical control). It caters to mechanical engineering that may include in house design and development.
TIFR Mumbai guest rooms are fully air-conditioned provided with a refrigerator and a locker. Every room is also provided with complimentary tea, coffee, milk, and sugar sachets along with an electric kettle, cups and cutlery. The entire guest house is wifi enabled.
Hostels are good. Everyone is provided with a single sharing room. The rooms are excellent, with an attached bathroom and a balcony as well. We are a small group of students hence we have only 3 classrooms and a computer lab. Wi-Fi is available everywhere on the campus. Food is not that great but fine. Food is quite affordable with respect to Bangalore standards.
The infrastructure of National centre for biological sciences coming under the tata institute of fundamental research having a good infra with all the necessary facilities available in the campus.The institute is known for research work and laboratories are good.

See in general, if one have 50% marks in the TIFR GS examination, then its quite confirmed that the student will get a call for the interview. Now every year, the difficulty of the paper change for different subjects and as a result, the cutoff changes. So nothing for sure can't be provided, although you have moderate chances to get the interview call.

Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR Mumbai) offers research and integrated programs at PG and doctoral levels. There are M.Sc, M.Sc+Ph.D and PhD courses offered in various streams of Science. Admissions are entrance based for all courses.
So you can't study/research in TIFR until you complete undergraduate course.

TIFR GS exam is scheduled to be conducted on December 8, 2024.
