One of the most reputed technical institutions in Kurseong, Darjeeling, West Bengal is the Darjeeling Polytechnic, established in 1964. This affiliated college imparts quality education to students in various streams of engineering and has already been approved by the AICTE. Situated at the heart of the beautiful hills of Darjeeling, the institute covers an area of 9.94 acres, providing the ideal ambience for learning and growth. With a total enrolment of 358 students and 13 faculty members.

The pride of Darjeeling Polytechnic is its up-to-date facilities to the needs of the students. A unique Library acts as the Centre of Learning and equips a collection of more than 9,000 volumes, backed by a reading hall with a seating capacity for 30 students. It includes well-equipped, department-based laboratories in the college campus to support hands-on learning experiences. It also provides an institute-level, well-established, modern IT infrastructure to its students so that they remain updated with the latest developments. For outstation students, it has separate hostel facilities for boys and girls, both comfortable and well-maintained, in the campus area itself.

Darjeeling Polytechnic offers a focussed range of diploma programmes with three full-time courses catering to different engineering specialisations; the total intake capacity of the institute is 180 across all its programmes. Each course has been designed such that it builds a strong foundation for students in their chosen fields and enables them to face the challenges of rapidly changing technological environments.
