My college building is an old drab building from the outside, but has very well equipped laboratories with state of the art technology. All classroom-auditoriums and conference halls have A.C. of first grade companies. The library boasts of thousands of volumes of books related to each and every topic taught here.
I am currently studying Electronics and Communication Engineering. Through with my 2nd year, I have fallen in love with my stream thanks to the first class quality of teachers. Our faculty consists of professors who are one of the best in the nation, if not the world. The curriculum is updated every year and is formulated perfectly so that students can crack GATE, IES, GRE as well as get jobs.
Since the 4 year B.Tech programme started in 2015, which is very recent, the placement scenario is poor. But with the arrival of the new placement officer, the scenario is deemed to change. Already this year a few IT companies have come to the college for placements, which number is predicted to increase in the near future. In spite of all these, many brilliant students get placed off-campus too.
The course fee here per semester is about 3600, and the total cost for the whole course of 4 years is around 35k, which is dirt cheap. The fees taken here is way less than the quality of education and facilities provided here.
The college campus is the Rajabazar Science College Campus. Beside studies, the students indulge in the dramatic society here or participate in the tech-fests happening here and across the city. The college is located very near the Rajabazar more and is well connected via autos and buses. It is also near the Sealdah ESI Hospital in case any medical emergencies do arise.
Our college have all necessary infrastructure ,labs are equipt with all essential instruments.corridors are very clean.Classrooms are well equipped with projector, light ,ac,fan and sound system.Canteens are also clean.
I am studying ECE .I choose this department because it is one of the most renounced department in Calcutta university. Our department changes its syllabus whenever required (as the syllabus is changed this year).
Few companies comes for campusing .They are mainly IT companies. Some core companies also come. But truely saying I think it is only drawback of this department. But our department is trying to increase the campusing both by changing syllabus and in management level.
It's cost about 4000 per sem and . Yes it is really a great department.I am really happy that I got admission in this department.
Our campus is not very big but organised. It has a small park.some sitting places . Teachers are really helpful. I feel safe inside the campus.
I will definitely recommend this department to those who really want a solid background in BTech.Study is little bit theory oriented here. But a good theoritical knowledge will help us during practical applications.
Infrastructure is good but it required new things like air conditioned. It have library but not sports centres however it provides hostels for distant students. And also wifi is available only for staff not for students.
Academics are good and contains study about new technologies. We recently studied about artificial intelligence which is new in technology. Also we have very huge network for research in radio wave and photonics society.
Placement is very bad but research background is excellent. Number of students getting placed is very less but there are many students who go for further higher studies in top institute of india and in foreign.
Yes.
Campus life is boring i. e we have no option other than study.
It is a good institute for research.
Though being a heritage college ...it have a very good maintenance..classrooms are clean and fully air-conditioned..talking about laboratories..basic labs are small but well equipped..we have a huge research labs particularly on nanoscience and nanotechnology...CRNN..only regret is the availability of sports facilities...foods served by canteen is very much hygienic and have lot to choose from..
I think a college is defined by its research facilities and its interest on innovation..which is very much of interest here...professors are highly educated...and encourages students to think ........
Placements are in scarcity..the reasons behind it are there was no placement officer..and most of the students usually used to go for higher education..the placement sell should have to be improved as much as possible...
The semester fees are astoundingly less...about 3k per semester..so getting such a research environment in such a low cost is definitely a good value for money ...
Cultural activities are not practiced much here...it’s mainly all research and studies over here... Professors are very much cooperative and try to be helpful... teacher-student interaction is very good here
Our college doesn't have the best infrastructure as it is old but laboratories are well equipped. The place is clean and we'll maintained and the campus got really good old vibes. There are not many option for sports but there is a gym.
I am Studying B.Tech in Electronics and Communication and as a student I would honestly say the faculty varies from subject to subject. For some Subjects, you will have to train yourself. The teaching mainly focuses on theory and fundamentals without depth in modern trends thus NOT updated.
Placements varies from Department to department. Mostly companies were called my Alumni and head faculties but now recently a new placement incharge has been hired. The history of placement for ECE is pathetic. Most students thus go for higher studies after B.Tech.
This college is very old and renowned. It is a very old building. All the classrooms have ac. Labs are very old. There is hostel beside our campus which is very good. There is no smart boards still black boards are used.
The academics is very good. All the teachers urge us to persue higher studies in future. All of them have done their PhD and post doc. The curriculum is very much updated according to modern technologies.
This is a major issue in our college. Placement is very poor. Some IT companies still recruit through our campus but they offer vey low package. A new placement officer came to our college and he is trying to improve the situation.
The cost per semester is 3.6k which is very less compared to other private or government colleges. The exam fees is also very less which is 500 per sem. I think that my money is getting worth beacuse I want to persue higher studies in future.
It is situated in Rajabazar area. Near that metro stations are situated. College life is full of fun and enjoyment. NRS hospital is very near our campus so emergency is not an issue. Students always take part in techfests, coding competition etc .
This college is very old and renowned. It is a very old building. Canteens have wifi facilities all the time in the day. Some labs are old. So there is scope of improvement. Classrooms are very clean and have ac.
The academics is very good. All the teachers have done their phd and post doc. They clear all our concepts which are required. They also solve our doubts. They recommend us for higher education. Overall it is good.
The placements are very poor. Some IT companies like TCS, COGNIZANT always recruit through our campus. The avg salary is 3-4 lakh per anum. Recently a placement officer came to our college and he is trying to improve the situation.
In this perspect our college is the best. Our college charges around 3.6k each. Exam fees is also very less. Compared to other colleges our college is the cheapest. Total fees is 30k per year. Value for money is good.
Campus life is fun and full of enjoyment. There are 3 canteens and a gym and a table tennis room. There is also a sports ground beside our college. Students spend their leisure time in these areas of our college.
This college is very old and renowned. It is a very old building. But the classrooms have ac facilities. Classrooms are clean. Canteens have wifi. All the places are food hygienic. There is our own sports ground beside the campus.
The academics is very good. All the teachers have their PhD and post doc done. They teach very well and also help in clearing the important concepts. They always solve our doubt when required. The are also very co operative.
This is a major issue in our college and it needs to be worked upon very soon. Recently a placement officer came to our college and he promised us that he will try to improve the situation. Overall the placement scenario is not upto the mark.
In this perspect our college is the best. Our college charges around 3.6k each semester which is very less and overall fees is around 30k in 4 years of B.Tech programme. Exam fees is 500 rupees only which is also very less.
Campus Life is fun and full of enjoyment. There are 3 canteens in our college and a gym and table tennis room are also there where the students spend their leisure time. NRS hospital is very near of our college in case of any emergency.
Our college has the reputation in research activities. So the teachers always urge us to persue higher studies. Their teaching methodologies are also strict to the syllabus of Gate, IES etc. So if you want to persue higher studies this is the correct place for you.
I am currently doing b.tech from radio physics department under Calcutta University . It is a quite old institute in kolkata and also renowned. Our classrooms are quite neat and clean with ac facility . Library has a pretty good collection of study books and journals. Also our institute offers hostel facility for students from other districts or states . There's no sports centre .
I am pursuing b.tech in radio physics and electronics . I was always passionate about electronics and robotics and here I got the opportunity to study and know about them . Our department's professors are knowledgeable and outstanding teachers .
Placement record from our department is not that good. Most of the students usually opt for higher studies . But some get absorbed in IT companies like TCS , Cognizant, IBM etc. But we recently got w new placement officer who is seriously working on it.
As it is a government college, we don't have to pay much for the course . And according to me our faculties are the best in the corresponding domain. So, if you are interested in higher studies, studying here will be actually worthy.
Campus life is average. Teacher Student relationship is quite well . Senior junior interaction is also good . Location is very good . It's very easy to go to rajabazar from sealdah . But we don't get much technical experience here.
Overall it's a very good college if you really want to learn and study . No hazard of unions . There's a quite friendly atmosphere here and ideal circumstance of studying . Calcutta University is one of the best universities in india .
The college has most of the necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipment. Some classrooms are good & some are average.Classrooms have black board, projector & white screen for projection & have enough benches.Libraries are well equipped with all sorts of books for every subject. The campus lacks WiFi but hostels have WiFi.There is no playground and sports facilities aren't good-only a table tennis room and a gym.Laboratories are good.Hostels are good.Living spaces are clean & food is hygienic.
I am studying B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering. The quality of teaching is mostly good. The teachers have in depth knowledge in their respective fields. The teachers are ready to clear the doubts of students. The curriculum has been updated recently as per AICTE norms but does not necessarily include recent developments in the field. The study forms the base for the concepts asked in job interviews.
The quality of placements has been very poor till 2019 as there was no placement officer. But from this year it has started improving after joining of new placement officer.Previously the placement percentage was close to nil but this year many students got placed in companies like TCS Digital,Cognizant,IBM.Highest salary package was close to 7 lpa.Average salary package was close to 4 lpa. This was our 1st batch of placements after placement officer joined.College was supportive in the process.
The course costs around 7.5k rupees per year. If only fees is taken into consideration, the money is somewhat worth as at such a low amount other colleges hardly get the facilities we are getting.
The campus is very small but has a vibrant environment. There are many other departments in the campus as part of the University of Calcutta so students from various backgrounds come & interact with each other. For extra-curricular and sports activities it has not much to offer.Students have healthy interaction with each other and with faculty and administration. Most teachers and support staff are suportive. The institute is in a safe location within the city and I think it can handle emergencies.
Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics is one of the oldest electronics departments in India & has produced many stalwarts in this field like J.C. Bose,Sisir K. Mitra. It has had a great reputation as a research institute. But considering its present situation it still has huge scope for improvement and surely can reach great heights in future.
