UCET Hazaribag Admission 2025: Dates, Registration, Fees, Eligibility

University College of Engineering and Technology (UCET), a part of Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribag, is a top engineering education institution in Jharkhand. UCET is well known for imparting technical education in diverse fields of engineering. The UCET admission process is meant to identify meritorious students on the basis of a fair and competitive process.

The main entry point to UCET Hazaribag is the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (JCECE), which is organized by the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB). The test provides a level playing ground for all the candidates and enables deserving students to secure admission in engineering courses. UCET also considers scores in JEE Main for admission, giving a second chance to candidates.

For eligibility, the candidates should have cleared their 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as mandatory subjects from a recognized institution. 

Application Process

The admission process to UCET Hazaribag involves the following:

1. Entrance Examination: The applicants are required to appear for the JCECE by JCECEB or the JEE Main test.

2. Application Form: After the entrance examination results are announced, the shortlisted candidates have to complete the application form for UCET. The form is usually uploaded on the UCET official website or through the JCECEB portal.

3. Document Submission: In addition to the application form, the candidates have to submit a list of documents, which can be:

• 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates
• JCECE rank card or JEE Main score card
• Category certificate (if any)
• Domicile certificate (for state quota seats)
• Recent passport-sized photographs

4. Counseling Process: Shortlisted candidates are invited for counseling on the basis of their rank or score. At the time of counseling, candidates select their most preferred branch of engineering according to their rank and availability of seats.

5. Seat Allotment: Seats are allotted to the successful candidates on the basis of counseling preferences and candidate rank.

6. Fee Payment: After allotting a seat, candidates need to pay the necessary fees within a specified period to secure the admission.

7. Document Verification: The last step is physical document verification of all original documents at the institute.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Tech: UCET Hazaribag conducts four regular B.Tech courses: Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. Their admissions for all these courses are based almost entirely on the candidate's score in JCECE or JEE Main entrance examinations. Sanctioned total intake for UCET's B.Tech programs is 210 students in four disciplines.

• B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering: Sanctioned student intake in this is 60 students.
• B.Tech Mechanical Engineering: The sanctioned number of 60 students also extends to this stream.
• B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering: The CSE program also takes 45 students annually.
• B.Tech Information Technology: Just like the CSE program, the IT program also has a sanctioned number of 45 students.

The applicants for these B.Tech courses need to undergo the eligibility of 10+2 with subjects Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The candidates are selected through the rank scored in JCECE or through JEE Main marks and later through counseling procedure.
