The college has a girl's hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students. is a result of the great endeavor of the students' activity Committee. It was inaugurated on the 28th of July by the honorable minister in charge, Shri SadhanPande, the chief guest being the MLA of Jorasanko Constituency, Smt. Smita Bakshi. The college offers hostel facilities providing students a safe and low-paid accommodation near a college, adjacent to VidyasagarSmritiMandir, at 36/1, Vidyasagar Street, Kolkata 700006. It is a three-storied building where almost 42 students can be accommodated. The students accommodated in the hostel are facilitated with a comfortable airy room furnished with a standard size beds, study tables, and cupboards. In addition, there is a well-furnished dining hall with all modern facilities. Moreover, the facilities of purified water, CCTV surveillance, and 24-hour security are also available. All these facilities are made out of the RUSA fund. The hostel Warden Prof. Epshita Roy supervises each and every aspect of the hostel.
The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students. Health care facilities to students are available to students on-campus as well as off-campus. Periodic health camps and medical checkups by competent physicians. Periodic counseling by professional counselors prepares students to meet individual problems and problems in relation to domestic and social relations.
The college has a Gym facility for all the students.
The college has two highly updated libraries. Central Library: The major needs of the students of this college the college has its Central Library in her third campus (8A, Shibnarayan Das Lane) of two floors having more than 23,000 text and reference books of all departments. Students and teachers can read and borrow books from this library. The library is run at present by a librarian. Seminar Library: In the Central Library, the college has one seminar library having a three-floor area of 600 sq. ft. in its Main Campus. This library is mainly for the humanities departments having about 1000 reference books, seven departmental cubicles complete with necessary furnishings, network computers with internet connections, and printers. For Science departments, the individual department has its own seminar library maintained by the Heads of the respective departments. Students and teachers can borrow reference books for a short period from the departmental seminar libraries.
The college has sports facilities for all students. The large courtyard at the Second Campus is utilized for such sports and games as Badminton, Volleyball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, and other athletics. As there is no space in the Main Campus for outdoor sports and games, we try to use the Second Campus for such purposes to the best of our ability.
The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students. Housed in the Second Campus, this section is mainly designed to educate and train our students in the modern methods of language studies and linguistics. As we offer both honors and elective/general courses in Bengali, Hindi, English, and Sanskrit, this section caters to the requirements of a wide number of students. The section is fully equipped with computers and all the necessary equipment and accessories. This Lab is of immense research and other functional potentialities in today’s scenario.
The college has a canteen facility for staff and students. A common Canteen facility is available. Proposed to have a snack vending counter.
The college has an auditorium is situated on the Second Campus with a floor area of 2000 sq. ft. Complete with all necessary air-conditioning and audio-visual arrangements it is a multipurpose hall that can be used as both an auditorium and seminar room. Audience capacity 100.
The college has a good networking for the alumni association.
The college has a Wi-Fi facility for all the students and staff.
The college has a departmental based laboratory facility for the students. There are well-equipped and Air-conditioned Laboratories in the new building of the College. Departmental Laboratories are maintained from the academic budget and four Laboratories (Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, and Physiology department) have been reorganized at New Building (3rd Campus) by utilizing RUSA (Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan) fund.
The college has banked with Bank of Baroda, College Street Branch, Kolkata 700 006. Submission of all students’ fees is made at the said bank. The students may open their own SB accounts in this bank on college recommendation.
The college has a convenience store facility for students. (like photocopying facility & stationery etc.)
This college has hostel facilities, two libraries, e-library, projectors, computer and departmental labs, free wifi and hygienic environment. The canteens are cleen but quality of food could be a little better.
This college has good faculty and all necessary equipments for perfect studies. There is WiFi facility. The library is not up to the mark. There is no hostel facilities. The hygine of canteen food is not well maintained.
Yes, we are provided with all necessary facilities and equipments. Those who want to avail for hostel facilities they can apply for it. The hostel is clean and safe, with satisfactory food and well-guarded.
