To get a seat in IMU the candidate should have cleared entrance exam conducted by IMU.

Eligibility -

Candidates shall have cleared class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics with 60% aggregate and 50% marks in English. Provided, candidates appearing for the examination in 2022 will also be eligible. The age of candidates shall be within 17 to 25 years. A relaxation of 5 years will be allowed for the reserve category.

So, in case of your colleges does not provide on-campus placements to this college, you can apply directly through the website of Maersk.

1) You should submit your application in the job portal of the site.

2) And you will receive a confirmation for application and it will be reviewed by the authorities.

3) Later on they will conduct face to face interview for the purpose of the job.

After completion of interview based on your merit you will receive the offer letter from them.

The alumni constantly help the cadets in getting placed in reputed shipping companies all over the world. Everyone gets 2 chances to appear for the placement drive. The cadets are shortlisted based on their CV, then we have a one to one interview with the HR team and in the end followed by a medical checkup. One who qualifies everything is placed in turn. First of all fixed up an interview with the mesrsk sea.line office at Jesmin Tower 31,Shakespeare Sarani 4th floor Kolkata -700017,WB. To apply in a Skype format for sponsorship of the marks a company which has head office in Copenhagen Denmark. If your twelfth marks with science subject is very good at least 75% and IMU CET marks  is also high. After the marks p l i and psychological test you will be eligible for getting the sponsorship for the mearsk company.

IMU offers, several courses, in which there is no diploma for marine engineering, only btech is offered for marine engineering. There is diploma for nautical science of one year programme for undergraduates. However, in PG there is diploma course in marine engineering. It is for a period of one year. The admissions for 2021 programme were closed on 12 september 2021. The dates for 2022 admissions were not yet released.

The fee for BTech in marine engineering at IMU Chennai is  9 lacs, there are a total of 296 seats for the same, the duration of the course is of four years, and the minimum eligibility criteria to get admission in the same is that the candidate must have passed their 10+2 with physics, mathematics and chemistry or biotechnology or biology or technical vocational subject or computer science or Engineering Graphics or agriculture as compulsory subjects.

TMI is better off in all the categories over IMU ( IMU refers to IMU Chennai campus). Placements is better at tolani at Meri on-campus placement is about 60–70% max..also you have most of the times just two attempts to sit for placements so things gets a bit tricky. Also since the best of the students from IMU-cet join Meri so competition is tough…. though if you are among the top 50 or 60 out of a batch of 250 your placement is almost 100% secured.
