My experience at IIIT Hyderabad.

College Infrastructure

The infrastructure is pretty good. They have good classrooms and really good facilities at the lab. The college has a great research culture, with a huge chunk of money being invested in research labs. The Wi-Fi facilities are not that good, and the network is not that good. Also, all classrooms are not air-conditioned. The hostels are also pretty good. But there's one issue with hostels, which is drinking water. It has happened many times that drinkable water is not available on many floors. Also, the lift does not work properly and gets stuck many times.

Having so nice experience here.

Have a question related to IIIT Hyderabad ?

Can a JEE Main 85%ile achiever clear UGEE exam (conducted by IIIT Hyderabad), if he has 40 days for the exam and 80 days for Interview. If yes, then kindly provide an effective roadmap/strategy to overcome all the three hurdles i.e. SUPR exam, REAP exam and The Interview. I'm truly grateful for the help.

Hello Sarvagya,

Yes, a JEE Main 85 percentile achiever can clear the UGEE exam with 40 days for SUPR and REAP and 80 days for the interview. Here’s an effective roadmap:

Phase 1: 40-Day Strategy for SUPR and REAP

  1. Understand the Pattern:

    • SUPR – Tests logical reasoning, problem-solving, and analytical thinking.
    • REAP – Tests research aptitude and PCM subject knowledge.

  2. First 10 Days – Build Foundation:

    • Revise JEE topics (PCM) and practice logical reasoning.
    • Work on accuracy and speed.

  3. Next 20 Days – Intensive Practice:

    • Solve UGEE sample papers and full-length mocks.
    • Analyze mistakes and improve weak areas.

  4. Last 10 Days – Final Review:

    • Focus on weak points.
    • Practice time management and quick problem-solving.

Phase 2: 80-Day Strategy for Interview
  1. First 40 Days – Research and Project:

    • Study research papers and IIIT Hyderabad projects.
    • Prepare a strong research statement or project idea.

  2. Next 30 Days – Mock Interviews:

    • Practice explaining your project clearly.
    • Work on technical questions and communication skills.

  3. Last 10 Days – Final Prep:

    • Refine answers and presentation.
    • Stay calm and confident.

      Key Focus Areas:
  1. Strong PCM basics for REAP.
  2. Logical reasoning for SUPR.
  3. Clear communication and research understanding for the interview.

Consistent practice and structured preparation will increase your chances of success.

Is getting into IIIT Hyderabad more tougher than a student to get in manipal if he wants CS

Hello Sidhartha,

Yes, getting into IIIT Hyderabad for CSE is significantly tougher than getting into Manipal for CSE.

  • IIIT Hyderabad: Admission is highly competitive due to its reputation for excellence in computer science. The main admission channels are through JEE Advanced (top ranks required), JEE Main (very high percentile), and other direct modes like Olympiad and KVPY.

  • Manipal: Admission is through the MET (Manipal Entrance Test), which is easier compared to JEE Advanced or achieving a top rank in JEE Main. The cutoff for CSE at Manipal is relatively lower than IIIT Hyderabad.

IIIT Hyderabad demands a top percentile in JEE, whereas Manipal’s MET is more moderate in difficulty.

I'm studying in iiit basar and i want to transfer my seat from RGUKT basar to IIIT Hyderabad after completing my puc-1 course. Is it possible?

Dear

According to the information transferring your seat from RGUKT Basar (IIIT Basar) to IIIT Hyderabad after completing your PUC-1 course is generally not possible. Both institutions have separate admission processes and criteria. To transfer, you would need to reapply for admission to IIIT Hyderabad through their standard admission process, which usually requires taking entrance exams like JEE Main.

It's always a good idea to contact the admissions office of both institutions for clarity and explore other institutions with more flexible transfer policies if needed.

Thanks.
